To reproduce problem:
  1. Start a custom game
  2. Check 'Advanced Start' option
  3. launch game
  4. Press 'Escape' and click 'Regenerate Map'

What happened: At first everything within my borders faded away until it was all black. I could see the blue circles of proposed sites, but nothing else. After tabbing out and back in, I was able to see within my borders, but the advanced border interface was gone. I no longer had the white borderline nor the shading of what was within that borderline.

What I expected to happen: After regenerating the map I expected to get the typical Advanced Start borders and interface.

The first screenshot is the initial view after regenerating the map. The second screenshot is when you tab out of the game and than come back to it after regenerating the map.

Ok - I can reproduce this, but I have a hypothesis as to what the problem actually is: I think that when you regenerate a map (advanced start or not), the main interface does not center on the new start location.

Bug description
Map does not recenter on units correctly following map regeneration.

Expected behavior
When the map is regenerated, the interface should center on the new starting location.

Actual behavior
The amp regenerates, the game appears to try to scroll to the new starting location, but often ends-up showing back FOW.

Steps to reproduce
  1. Start a new game - large map (to maximise chance of start location in radically different location).
  2. Hit 'regenerate map'. Observe that after regeneration, interface does not scroll to new start location.

Alternatively, try what Methos outlines above - similar results.

When you save the game at this stage, exit Civilization, come back and load the saved game, it repositions correctly the grid on the right place.

BUT,

1- If you use quick save (Shift+F5) and quick load (Shift+F8), it will "crash" the display: there is no more menu and the globe is in full screen mode! The bottom menu bar appears briefly during reload and will vanish afterward.
Pressing ESC will load the menu and it is possible to exit cleanly.

2- If you regenerate the map and you are currently viewing the part without the fog of war, you will see briefly this part substituted with the ground as it is in the new map, before it goes dark: you have then a preview of a part of the map you are going to play!
