Hey. Been playing Next War and it seems to have a problem with the trade routes. It seems that the overseas bonus doesnt really do anything, in NW at least. In the 2 screenshots, compare the bonuses for the different cities. They seem different in the screenshots than they were ingame, but why are the ones in Munich with less positive modifiers worth more? The Munich shot has 2 trade routes worth +6 and one worth +5.. with less bonuses than the ones in the Paris shot worth 4.

Anyways it might be nice to fix the other NW bugs as in this mod:

Going to check this out more ingame and come back and update this post.

sure.

weird how the +6 routes in Munich are to the same civ, China, as the ones in Paris, yet they dont get an overseas bonus even though the cities are practically right next to each other.. yet they are still worth more without it

Really confused, I am. Anyways, here is the save. As I said, its for Next War, not the base game - haven't tried it much yet to know if this behavior is normal or not.

edit: also, don't ask how I am smoking the AI so badly.. I am also curious. The only reason they are even close is that I keep giving everyone my techs so I don't totally blow them away ^^

Maybe you're too good for noble! :D

Thanks for the save.

Bug Description
Trade route yields not accounting for bonuses properly or consistently.

Expected Behavior
for the trade route breakdown, you expect the bonuses to be consistently applied for different trade routes.

Actual Behavior
The base trade route figure and the net trade route figure seem to be largley independent of the multipliers.

Steps to reproduce
  1. Open save attached to previous post.
  2. Open "Paris" and verify that the trade route for Macau is:
    Base profit 1
    Bonuses summing to 370%
...with a 'total' trade route profit of 4
  3. Open "Munich" and verify that the trade route for Circassian is:
    Base profit 1
    Bonuses summing to 285%
...with a 'total' trade route profit of 6

Actually, A suggestion why this maybe the case.. a possible scenario

Paris-Macau
1 (base)
*
(1+370%)=4.7
=4 (rounded down)

Munich-Cicassian
1.60 (DISPLAYED as 1)
*
(1+285%)
=6.16
=6 (round down)

since if a similar calculation method was used for BTS and Warlords, the Base Value shouldn't be consisently 1, but depend on the population/distance of the city traded with. (1 is just the minimum possible base value)
checked out the code... yup, the Base can be any number more than 1 and is NOT rounded off (untill after the %s are put in)
