Other Civs Working MY Land!

they can only build roads and railroads, which you can also do in other civs territory who have open borders with you.It never hurts!

crazy i havent seen that yet ...do they actually alter tiles to make the forts or are they just putting forts on unused land?

I remember doing this to other civ back in civ 3, where I kept planting forests in my neighbor's lands. Good time.

Here's screenshots. This first shows where the Greek workers are building on my mines. The second shows the forts they built. The game cursor in the first screenshot was over the Greek workers in the forest west of Washington.

And no comments about how bad I'm doing in the game. :nono: :mischief:

I was able to build a fort in the Egyptians territory in my first Game, but I thought it was becasue they were my Vassals.

Can't do it unless it's your own territory, or not claimed. Or atleast I cant. I haven't tried vassals territory tho.

Please note that i nthe screenshots there are two green dots i nthe city of washington where there wasnt before, and that Workers can move.

I too have had a fort built on my land, no-where near a city though, and wondered how the hell it got there as I havn't built any yet, old habbits die hard

Maybe thats why they built them, they're trying to help you cause they know sooner or later someones gonna come for you and you need a place to hide :D

I've had the AI work my land in my latest save, but I later realised they built a road to a distant city of their own. It was great for me as they made a road which connected the heart of my Empire to theirs. Guess who received the visit of my SOD 10 turns later? :D

You are doing pretty poorly in the game! :p

I have never seen that...However, I have seen the AI build forts on top of resources within their own cities' fat crosses. Strange how they would opt to build a fort on a resource, vs. actually building the camp or mine...Either way you get the resource if you have a road or a river with sailing that connects it to your empire, but wouldn't it always be better to build the camp or mine, etc...if it's withing your cities' fat cross???

I just thought of another theory. Perhaps, Pericles is planning on invading you, and expects to raze your city. Therefore, if he wanted the gold, he would need a fort, connected via a trade route to his lands. You may have open borders now...but I'd be expecting an invasion soon! (P.S., I don't think they should be alowed to do that, either way.)

Terrorists trying to destroy your mines, kill your miners and wreck your $$ - this looks like a job for SuperKnight and friends.

That is - close borders - declare war - capture the workers - re-educate workers. Then again I'm a warmonger.
