A long time ago ( a couple of years) a friend told me he saw a "civil-war" happenning in the game when a civ lost its captol and didn't build another ...causing revolt. Is is true?

There must be less than 7 civs and the attacker must be ranked lower(supreme, pathetic, etc), than the attackee

Thanks a lot. Can it happen when the human player captures the capitol or only when another computer controlled civ does it?

And the splitting civ doesn't hav 1000 gold to rush-build a new palace. This fact is also important for the later game:
If an AI capital is captured, the government can only "escape", if they have 1000 gold or more for rush building a new palace. If you want to destroy their space ship, you must take their capitals one after the other until their treasury sinks under 1000 gold.

LOL, I came from some posts about these topics a few minutes ago! If you ever play OCC capture the world, you'll likely split some AI civs, since you're gunna be low ranked on the power scale. It's cool to do, and the AI factions typically hate each other and begin fighting, LOL... even in Civ 2 MGE!
