A new Byzantine set :)

The file also includes a version with a cross on top of the larger church.

New walled version in post #8

Yes, the new walls are much better!

I did not change anything else, apart from taking out the bits surrounding them.
However a lot of pixels are different, since they were a fresh render.

No, they do in fact have a bit of rose (light red / pink) to them. It is not a huge thing. Perhaps rock walls where you live are this shade. I know where I have lived stone has a blue tint not a red one.

Granite shipped in from the Canadian Shield.
hehe, I have seen that rose granite used in one of my distant relatives walkways in Paulsbo, WA. Never saw it before. But, she was a very kind old lady but a bit crazy for pink things. Pale pink car. Kitchen in 3-4 shades of subtle pink. Bathroom in 3-4 shades of flaming pink..... her house was built of yellow formed bricks which were mostly yellow, but the morter had a pink cast... the wood work covering the upper half of the house was sorta pink...
So I asked her if she was a closet commie, strangely she did not laugh. Had to spend the next half hour explaining the joke and that no I did not really think she was a communist.

This is the texture i used for the walls. It is grey with a bit of dark red as well, as an outline of the bricks:

Hmm, must be the slight red cast that it gives the walls which when reduced in size looks pink/rose.
Have you experimented with how it would look with a more monochrome texture but with a bump map?

What is a bump map?

Well in simple terms it is a height map for your textures.

Take this quick B55 render.

The upper images are identical to the lower ones except the upper ones have a bump map.
See you can enhance a texture.
Make the surface look like it was painted.
or change the type of wood used and still have the same planking effect.
I use it on all my stuff as it adds depth and realism.

ps: I think the forums rules say that the max image size is 600x600 pixels. I like to post larger images too, so my work around is either to post a link to it or to post a smaller version which when clicked on expands to the full size.
