It appears that the patch also modifies some non-BTS assets, which would cause your non-BTS games to receive the "Protected Assets" message. I would suggest either holding off on the patch, or using a dual install to finish your current games.
It didnt however seem to change Warlords. Still having asset warning issues with it, and the WOTM's wont load.
Edit: well apart from the .dll it also updated the GlobalDefines and BuidlingInfo xml files for Warlords but not for Vanilla - since I do not have a copy of those pre-patch I cannot say what undocumented changes they made there and unfortunately they did not update the Vanilla and Warlords SDK so their changes in the .dll files will remain anybody's guessVanilla and Warlords CvGameCoreDLL.dll files have a last changed date of 9/24/07 now (BtS 3.13 CvGameCoreDLL.dll has 9/21/07) so this patch definitely changed those, not the .exe though. I assume it has something to do with the *mod* warnings in MP.
It crashes with the old HOF-Mod - that was to be expected, but I had to try it anywaySo do we need a new HOF mod for the new BTS patch? Or do we just install the patch and then start a new game?
The content of the xml files isn't changed - just the dateEdit: well apart from the .dll it also updated the GlobalDefines and BuidlingInfo xml files for Warlords but not for Vanilla -![]()
Ah - ok, then someone probably just deleted a space because its ugly, like the at a glance screenThe content of the xml files isn't changed - just the date.
OK then. If I understand correctly then, I should NOT download this patch yet if I want to keep playing the BTS Beta, because non-compatibility with the latest HOF mod means it's impossible to play a qualifying game?
Gyathaar tells me (and I have no way to verify it) that the change that's made by the 3.13 patch is to install a new version of CvGameCoreDLL.dll in the top level folder of your Civ4 software installation.
To revert your patched vanilla installation it should, therefore, be possible to delete this file and run the vanilla 1.74 patch installer to reinstate the old version of the DLL. This should then play the existing GOTM/WOTM/SGOTM games.
If you then want to run BtS 3.13 you will need to copy your reverted Civ4 installation and re-apply the BtS patch to the copy to create a dual installation.
If the only problem derived from the 3.13 patch is CvGameCoreDLL.dll, people that don't have patched yet (like me) can simply copy that file in a safe DIR, then apply the patch and switch the two files as they need.
Prolly the guys at Firaxis could have told this, as the remedy is so simple if you have prior knowledge.
I applied the patch, and am now getting the Hof warning (changed assets) on brand new Warlords games.
So, what do I do?
Yes. There is one in Warlords\Assets as well if you want to fix warlords too.Is the location of this file?Spoiler :D:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Assets\CvGameCoreDLL.dll
