Patch and Mod Troubles on Gold Edition

I just bought gold edition.

Where to begin with the problems.

Installed about...4 different large modpacks. Fine installing, it all works fine but for I have no options on screen in game. No way to pick civics, check the civilpedia etc. Their are no buttons, bars..lists..nothing on my screen.


I thought perhaps with most mods being for version 1.61 for vanilla or past 2.08 for Warlords I needed the patches. Well..with gold edition it says I do not have Civ installed And it wont install the patches at all. None of them. None of the warlord ones or vanilla ones.


I think I need them to get the bars and buttons back up for mods..but it wont install them. Even the updating ingame says their are no updates...

If I have to go unmodded...I'm going to be ticked. 58$ for this piece oh...


Also: Updated... For example installing total realism for warlords. It does not read Warlords is installed either. their is alot of smit wrong with Gold edition it would seem.

Yes there is a lot wrong with Gold Edition, however patching to 1.61 should not be the problem (it already is, as well as 2.08). Did you try using the patches 1.74 and/or 2.13 (I do not guarantee that they work for Gold Edition though)?

I will try that. It's just my connection is being... so downloading the patches is taking upwards of 40 min..not normal for this thing. Talk of frustrating.

Sorry that I am doublep posting, but I tried installing the patches .174 and 2.13 and neither said Civ was installed *snorts* Just like the others. So I am completely out of look for mods then aren't I?

Gold Edition is to put it mildly a problem. You might want to complain tocontact the Tech Support of Take 2 *maybe* they know a solution (I would not hope for too much though).
Basically they screwed with the file system for gold edition and it seems that this causes troubles for some people, unfortunately they did not do the right thing and released the 2.13/1.74 patches for gold edition as well.

I am having the same problems with the Gold Edition. Has this been fixed? Has anyone found a solution?
