Using FFH2 .30 as a base, here is a map of Middle earth, 104 x96 so its big, really big, this link is a map with resources and improvements and units and is roughly 2770 third age with Smaug in Erebor and just throwing out the Dwarves, and Gondor with a Fornost all that is left of the North kingdon, 4 of the religions kick in on turn 6 and Gondor get the order, which is the Line of Kings and gives you isuldurs Hier rather than Van, Mordor gets the Viel, Khazad the Earth mother and Lorien the leaves. the amp has alot of emty lands that are there to fuel the barbs, so barbs remain a constant in game thing, to get experience, simply head of with anumber of units from Anorien and pick on barbs etc as Gondor, in Fornost the problem comes to you.
To play, replace all folders in FFH with these ones, should be easy, just look for the folder, move it to a safe palce and repalce it with the ones you have downloaded, untill you want to return it so as to play FFH.
long version.
FFH contains in its Assets folder 3 further Folders, along with 2 that dont concern us, we are making another assets folder:
Sounds
Xml
Art
Make a new folder called Assets, in it we will place the modded folders to allow you to play a LOTR version of FFH, you can swap out this Asset folders 3 folders to play FFH or LoTR by useing the folder to which each is modded, if you dont like LOTR, delete the 3 folders and your done, if you like the soundtracks/diplo etc, you can mix and match as i used the same name convention, ie you want Hippus to use LOTR soundtracks, they are named the same as the Hippus files and can be pasted in individualy or in bulk without any other editting, same for all units artwork.
So as to avoid any missed files etc, we are repalcing all files in a folder, even if they are not modded, so that we know the whole folder is ok and not missing anything important, of course the rest of the assets folders contents are also required if you find it easier to do the whole thing rather than the 3 modded folders, just make a copy of the rest of the folder and swap in the entire Assets folder to play LOTR, or the 3 changed folders of XML/Art/Sounds, whicher you find easiest.
To recombine the folders.
Place the two soundtracks Rar in a single folder inside sounds, namming it soundtrack, look at your FFH files to see what it looks like before you do this, you see a sounds folder that has a sountrack folder inside it along with other folders, since together thay are over 200 meg, ive split the soundtracks into 2 downloads, so what you are doing is to recombine them into a single folder called soundtrack and return it to its proper location, ie, inside sounds along side the contents of the sounds download folder, will now be the the single soundtrack folder, after you recombine it from the two downloads. So the soundtrack 2 folders make a new soundtrack folder that is retrned to the sounds folder from where it was taken.
Your Art folder contains a number of folders, some of which are very large so we are replcing only the 2 needed folders, so make a copy of all of this folder.Find and replace each of the following folders in it, civs rar contents sits inside the Units folder while interface does not, ie civs is too big a folder to load up whilein side units, so i have removed it and made it a seperate douwnload, you are returning it to its proper place inside the Units folder. In essence you are repalcing existing folders, so its a staightforward case of looking for the same named folder and repalcing it, you should only repalce, Interface and Units folders with the interface folder, and the sigle folder of units that now contains civs returned to being inside it.
Xml requires simply to be placed alongside Sounds and Art and is a single dowload.
Now you should now have another version of FFH, this one you have just created called assets, which contains, Art sounds xml and 2 other folders etc, or not, but regardless, to play you just need these 3 folders replacing you FFH ones.
As time goes by i hope to get a better method of makeing it vailable, but for now this will suffice i hope.
