The Road to War v1.2 BETA 3 for Beyond the Sword 3.13!

Road to War sets you on the brink of World War II and lets players decide how they would like to play. Players may choose to let the major events of World War II play out historically or command the War themselves, deciding how each battle should be fought.

Updated to v1.2 BETA 3! Please download to obtain the new features!

Instructions:
1. Download the mod. http://rtw.apolyton.net/files/RtW_1.2_Beta3.zip (400 meg)
2. Delete the Road to War folder from ..\Beyond the Sword\Mods\ completely.
3. Unzip the file to your Mods folder: ..\Sid Meiers Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\
4. Launch BtS and switch to mod The Road to War or select one of the scenarios.
5. Play as you normally would.

Information:

The current version is RtW Add-on v1.2 BETA 3 for BtS 3.13
You MUST have the BtS 3.13 patch installed.

- Airforce base now gives XP to air units

v1.2 BETA 1:
Added:
- Strategic airbomb mission
- Fighter engagement mission
- Graphical stack attack
- Opportunity fire
- Active fighter defense

Fixed:
- Battle effects bug where attributes didn't flow through eg: forest defense bonus
- Bugs in airbomb missions fixed
- Other minor bugs as reported over time

Changed:
- Unit costs altered
- USA AI aggression increased
- AI modifications to highlight sea-faring civs for invasions
- Logical AI for airbomb missions
- Mission icons for airbomb missions

What exactly are you looking for? Just people to play it and report on bugs? Or do you want those who will take an active part in actual programming and modding?
 
Play testing, bug hunting and suggestions.

No, you don't need to code, program or otherwise, though if there's an awesome graphic you want included I'm happy to oblige. :)
 
I really like the Road To War mod - I think it's the best WWIImod so far -, so...:yup:

PS: Anything planned or in the work yet?
 
I'm just testing the additional combat concepts I've added from DCM to RtW (like opp fire, active defense, updated airbombing, etc).

Done a few tweaks too:
- US unit tweaks
- AI tweaks (less concentration on naval forces)
- AI appears more aggressive (Germany actually beats Poland in 39 and gets Vichy event in 40 now)
- AI appears to be using paratroopers better (I even saw Germany do a reverse Market Garden through the Lowlands!)

That's just a start. :)

I should be able to upload the first beta either tomorrow night or the night after (my time of course). :)

Copying the maps into the Public Maps folder I noticed something odd: some of the maps are older than the ones I already have.:confused:
 
First thing, the hitler 1938 scenrio won't load for me, just crashes the game, however the europe 1936 loads fine

Don't know what's happened there, but I can confirm to all maps are the same as the add-on maps.

How far apart are the dates?
