I am unable to run this mod after downloading it on the GF manager. Apparently people who had this problem as well were able to solve it by downloading it without the gameflood manager; simply using their browser. But how do I do it that way? I haven't found any way to.

Once you click the "Download File" link here at CivFanatics and it loads the GameFlood play, go to to the "Play" button and choose "Install Files". In the page it loads choose the link on the right of the page, "Download content without installing the Download Manager". Once the next page loads your download of the actual FFH2 install will auto-start, or if not theres a direct link to it on the GameFlood server for you to click. For those of you on dialup, you can use a download manager like FlashGet with the direct link and you're able to resume it multiple times. (Thus making it actually possible to leech all 300 some odd mb on dialup over time.)

I tried that. Both through the automatic download and the direct link, there was no actual download, only a link back to this page: http://www.gameflood.com/Mashup/Index.cfm/intModID/11919

I see what you're saying, but it didn't work.

Edit: Never mind. It turns out the page is almost identical, except with a download via Browser option in the Play menu. So thanks.

FfH gang,

I would recommend that you should probably sticky a thread on downloading from Gameflood, we have a lot of people asking about this.

Best wishes,

Breunor

Greetings, all.

Just wanted to pop in here and address some of the things brought up in your posts. First, I have a quick list of steps I send out that fixes any download problems 99% of the time:

1. Go to http://www.gameflood.com/manager/
2. Click on "Download content without installing the Download Manager"
3. Go Here: http://www.gameflood.com/Mashup/Ind...ll-from-Heaven-II-0-30/Display/intModID/11919
4. Click the "Play" arrow under the description and select "download via browser"
5. Wait for the download to complete, then enjoy!

Second, we are reviewing this process. I'll let you know details when I can.

Last, I am always willing to help out. If you PM me either here or via the GameFlood site, I'll do everything I can to make sure your problems are solved.

Thanks!

In the Troubleshooting Subforum I wrote a walkthrough for installing FfH, which includes how to use Gameflood properly. And in a couple moments will include the post right above this one from GFGuy. :) It's just a matter of getting new people to look there for their installation :)

I thought it would be worth bumping this with the release of 2.31. My issues with downloading were resloved by switching off the firewall (do remember to switch it back on though)

If I do this it just refreshes the page running me in endless circles. If I use the DL manager all I get is a 3.3.mb nondescript 'file' that nothing can run, not an .exe. Frustrating. I'll try the manager again but my hopes aren't high.

PS. the above link leads to ver .30, not .31

Good Sauce, try d/l without your firewall in place thats what caused me problems alternatively someone else d/l used IE rather than fire fox. As for the link maybe Nathan will edit when he gets up

I got the manager to work. I had to tell it to save as an .exe, I assumed that was self-evident, but I guess not. I've never met a DL manager that didn't hate me. I do want to say something positive to GF_nate since there's so much complaining going on. Your server is excellent, because I know my connection isn't anything special, it only took me 10 minutes to download.

Yes, let's hear it for Nate. As much as I don't really like Gameflood (sorry Nate!), he helped me through a bunch of technical issues back either at the original 0.30 release, or 0.25. I think it was 0.25.

And hey! This time, everything worked perfect first time. So keep it up Gameflood. One day, your accessibility will be as top-notch as your customer service.

Gameflood added a new option to not manage the download any more. So when I upload a file I can set it to not use their special install script and everything, just to have it download the file directly. Hopefully that makes the whole process simplier.

I appreciate that gameflood is hosting this mod, it's nice to be able to get it with a reasonable download speed. Do you distribute this via torrent as well Kael?

No I dont (sorry for the short answer we have gone through this debate many many times).

I've got a backwards question for you Nate: How do I turn the download manager back on? I have had it disabled up till now, but I keep on losing the newest D/L just before it finishes, so I wanted to go ahead and try it out. Downloaded the Manager, but can't get .31 to download through it instead now.
