A brief game description.
World 1945 is a highly detailed forum based simulation involving war, peace, international relations and economics.

It is a forum game that mixes roleplaying with foreign affairs plotting, military and civil construction and an interactive system. A reasonable amount of knowledge is sought, but all are here to support.
The battle engine is to be a statistical model involving random number generation, taking into account a whole range of modifiers - equipment, firepower, training, surprise, positioning, communications, etc.

This game has advanced to October 1946 so far, and the following nations are not yet taken:

Western Europe
Austria
Belgium
Iceland
Ireland

If you are an important nation or if you want to be an active nation that matters; check in very often, preferably daily.
Otherwise once every 2-3 days should suffice, save in times of war or crisis.

If you are a member of an alliance bloc, do contribute to your alliance's open and secret forums.

In the interests of swift play, a number of nations have been taken under 'stewardship'. They are most certainly available to new players who would like to play them.

You can hardly call this a real role playing game.

True role playing is where you have to read long walls of text, and then type up a long wall of text, and manage a huge faction page.

No, it is roleplaying. From the perspective of someone who has been involved in various types of roleplaying since the 1980s, it certainly fulfills the appropriate definition.

Sure, it might be role playing to you guys, since it involves little to no typing.

The only difficult thing you have to do is the country's page, and you can always ask Equuleus or someone else to make it for you (for a price in-game).

List of open countries.

Basically the main rule is realism, you set your tax rate and budget from which the GMs calculate GDP and population growth, there is a dice based combat system with many modifiers. You invest money in civil and military projects, conduct diplomacy and other activities.

As for how much time is needed.
If you are a tier one country, check in very often, preferably daily
If you are a tier two country, once every 2-3 days should suffice, save in times of war or crisis.
If you are a tier three country, once every several days will suffice, save in times of direct war or crisis.

I wish it involved little to no typing - I've written thousands and thousands of words relating to various issues. But that is beside the point.
If you regard the amount of typing as the only measure of a role playing game, then your understanding is very much lacking. Roleplaying games did not involve typing in the 70s, 80s and 90s, nor do they now. It is about playing a role.

Sorry, don't see the fun in roleplays which only consist of, "And our nation decides to earn some money. Yay, money."

I looked at it, doesn't appeal like a nes

I find 45 much more enjoyable than NES.
