Due to the way air combat works in CIV4, does it have any effect whatsoever if I include such modifiers to aircraft as Domain Mods, Unit Combat Mods, or Unit Class Attack Mods?

I tried pitting ten fighters of a specific unit class vs 10 other fighters of a different unit class and of the same strength (using "Fighter Engage" mission in Dale's Combat Mod). One of the fighter classes was given a Unit Class Attack Mod of +100 vs. the other. There was no evidence that this made any difference as far as how well one could destroy the other. I guess this remains true with all types of combat modifiers applied to Air units, other than the Intercept bonus. Darn it...
Anyone else experimented with this?
