Tezcatlipoca was the main Aztec god, the Lord of the Smoking Mirror. The other title I'd guess is some kind of priest.
my favorite event is the courthouse thing where the message that pops up is many, many paragraphs long, and each answer is really long too. And in the end all the event does is give you +1 gold for your courthouse! it's like reading a novel, all for that...

I think the exclamation point at the end really sells it. Imagine an adviser frantically rushing into the throne room and spilling out that long-ass speech.
Apocalypto was about Mayans, not Aztecs. Their empires were close enough together for culture to perhaps trickle back and forth between them, but they were quite distinct on the whole.
Human sacrifice just happens to be one religious idea that's been invented everywhere.

What do the options do?
1.+2 angry faces (like whipped)
2.pay gold (65 base) AND unit is immobile for 3 turns

Gameplay wise, this is quite unbalance for the aztecs. They should add a benefit to the second option like +2 happiness for 15 turns (like whipped)

They probably did it to balance out the power of his whipping, just like the capital revolts were added to nerf slavery in general. Plus Monty is a jerk. he deserves this and worse.

It looks like you have bigger problems than the missing sacrifice - in the form of a significant warrior invasion from the south. Maybe there should be an option to slap your advisor and tell him to get with the program.
