This adjusted Civ4TechInfos file changes the values of research needed for each tech to more closely approximate the historical record.
In my games using this adjusted file, the space race is usually won around 1950 instead of the nineteenth or even eighteenth centuries. The world is circumnavigated around 1460 AD instead of around 1250 to 1350 AD, and liberalism is discovered around 1400 instead of 1200 AD.
Be advised that the altered Civ4TechInfos file will make the game slightly harder on tech mongerers, be they AI or human.
