Well the question refers to the banner at the top (and bottom) of this page, but im speaking about the banners you find on internet sites in general.

Has anyone ever clicked on a banner found on a site? How often do people feel the urge to play "free internet poker" or find "the hottest cars on the market"?

How useful this type of commercial really is?

Firefox + ad block = No banners to click.

But no I have not since 1990 something.

Mrs Dubai has a professional interest in marketing, and it drives her mad that I literally do not even SEE the ads in the paper or hear them on the radio. All these years of being bombarded by ads has caused me to perfect my ability to tune them out. So I don't need an ad blocker: mine's built-in!

Nope, and I don't intend to start.

Well, the amount of people blocking ads make my question even more valuable...how useful these commercials really are?

I turned off adblocker to see what would come up and oddly enough...

And I hit him square in the face. And I felt good about myself. Firefox still prevented the popup.

Well for the price you pay ( not much) you get your ad out there to millions of computers. If only a few people click on it its paid for it self.

The majority of people who visit the web are still not sophisticated to block the ads.
