Hi,

First, sorry for all the spellings errrors (here and in the future).

after only reading a long time (thanks for the tutorials) i tried to made my first own models. One ist the He 162 (my first model for Civ)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/He_162

which was used in WW II (luckily not in the intention the He 162 was planned)
the model has 517 vertices, 770 Triangles (says at least the scene viewer) and 2 256 Textures. I found the best scale is 0.65

Second is the Yak 15

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakovlev_Yak-15

was one of the first jetfighters of the CCCP. Model has 353 Vertices, 442 Triangles and again 2 256 Textures. Best scale again 0.65.

Both use the fighter animations.

Both are in the attached Zip, please let me know if it is damaged.

Which is the more important number for models in Civ IV, the vertices or the triangles? And how i made shader versions (in blender), have i missed this tutorial?

And now, please comments and advices and give both a home in your game.

Edit: added to DB http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=9143

Ciao

Very interesting... good work! Keep them coming.

Very, very very nice for your first ones. :) (I presume they are your first ones...?)

Yes! Another Heinckel! (Didn't know about the Yak, tho - so good for you!):D

Nicely done, BTW.:goodjob:

Nice units, shouldn't they be using JetFighter animations though ? ;)

Thanks a lot for the replies.

@mamba
Jet fighter, i am not sure, has the jet fighter animation machine guns? Thats the reason why i used it and because i was lucky that t worked. To say i fully understood what i made when using the animation would be a great joke.

I used the fighter animation an the jet fighter sound (before i used the fighter sounds but a jet fighter and propeler sound :crazyeye: ).

@dutchking
And i consider the He 162 as my second model (in gmax there was a P38 tutorial), but the first with a working UV map.

Actually you made a good call here. AFAIK none of those other early WWII jet fighters use the fighter animation so they're dropping bombs on a ground strafing.
I suppose the only extra thing XML-modders need to do then is linking to a jetfighter sound.
