Well, we're expanding to SGs! Preference will be given to Noble's Club members, but feel free to join in if you feel like it.

We're gonna use the 24/48 rule, that is, you have to post "got it" within 24 hours of the save, and then you have 48 hours to play.

Some basic rules:
1. Don't get mad if someone does bad. This is all for fun, and remember, we're all in the Noble's club and we can always go back to that.

2. We want good reports before good play. Better to know why we're losing, than wonder why we're winning.

3. Try not to do anything huge (i.e. declaring war) without group discussion.

4. Try not to automate workers or exploring.

5. Thanks to the DMI for forming the basis of our rules. Don't hate us.

This is BTS 3.13 with Bhruic's patch, but I dunno if you have to download the patch to play. And oh yes, almost forgot: In the BC's we'll do 20 turns each round, until the AD's where we'll do 10.

The Story:
Chapter 1-Played by Krick19
Chapter 2-Played by Groogaroo
Chapter 3-Played by Schwartz
Chapter 4-Played by S.ilver
Chapter 5-Played by Grandad
Chapter 6-Played by Bleys
Chapter 7-Played by Krick19
Chapter 8-Played by Groogaroo

Okay, I'm all for settling in place, good happiness from the ivory, and solid growth.

Tech should probably go something like Fishing>BW? I'm not very good with tech planning

Build should go something like warrior>Work boat if possible

I'm in. Looks like the capital will have fair early hammers if we settle in place.

Tech: Fishing -> BW(?) See what else is around resource-wise.
Build: Scout/Warrior -> Workboat (x2?)

Okay, I added you guys and put up the save.

Noble's club? I assume for people who play at noble.

Sign me up if you have space. Additionally, where do I sign up for this club?

EDIT: What does Bhruic's patch do? I can run the save without installing it, and I don't really want to if it's unnecessary, since other SGs I'm in don't use it.

@Silver
Krick had the wonderful idea to start a series of games for the Warlord/Noble/Prince level players to share suggestions, thoughts, and ideas on the same game. There is a thread in the "Strategy and Tips" forum. There have been two games so far, with the second still in progress for a couple of us.

Bhruic's patch fixes a number of bugs. Example:
You destroy Civ A. Later, Civ B spins off a colony.
Without Bhruic's patch, that colony would "take the place" of the destroyed Civ A, and as a result, would automatically be at war with you (since you were at war with A when you destroyed it) and so would his master, due to the vassal relationship between them.
The unofficial patch fixes this and other problems. I don't have a link but it shouldn't be too hard to find if you want it.

Yeah right! ;)

Settle in place looks like a good bet, darn why doesn't sury start with fishing! lots of hills without forest... could be some metals hiding in there. We have minig and hunting for the ellies and hills, so yes fishing first, maybe while we build a worker.

Definatley a good early production capital.

A tiny correction. It would be like you kill monty, but Civ B makes a colony that happens to be monty, who's furious at you cuz you declared war on him. I don't think you automatically get into war.

And groogaroo:
I'm gonna get so much flak for "regenerating a lot". I just got lucky.

I'll play soon cuz we have a good number of people lined up. Tech will probably go fishing>BW, and build, maybe worker/warrior>Work boat

Actually I think your right, probably a warrior first, then workboat as soon as fishing is in. need to get that food online quick so we can grow and work that extra commerce.

The plains don't look so bad, because we've got the two clams in the fat cross. I'm actually drooling at the production potential of this spot.

Also, this is Pangaea right? What are the chances of landing with so much water? Might want to throw Maoi here in the future.

Some suggestions:

- First, post this in the stickied registration thread...not mandatory , but helps future searches ;)

- Move the scout to the hill NW of the settler. You have water W of you and may be worthwhile to settle more to the west ( IMHO it doesn't worth to have tiles in the capitol BFC in other landmass )

- You have a lot of forests ,but you hills are deprived of it.... I suspect a metal there

- If you go warrior first until fishing is done, work the more food intensive tile you can until you can start the workboat ( then switch to the more hammer intensive :p )

@ rolo:
Agreed, depending on what the scout uncovers, 1W might be better, leaving the second clams for a later city on the island.
Second, my gut tells me that there will be a late-game resource (aluminum, coal) in the hill(s) without forests, since we already have a strategic resource (is ivory considered strategic??) in the fat cross. I'm not exactly sure about this, but since we don't have an all forest start, aren't we sure to have at least 2 food sources? (seafood is .5) If I'm right about that, then there may be a resource 1N 2W of the settler.
One more thing, I think I see a bit of tundra peeking out of the fog to the far SE of the visible tiles, which means we're starting far south

I really want to play but I may have to bug out a some point, due to my work pattern and other real life commitments!
Can you count me in for now?

I'd say move scout to the NW of the settler and then probably settle 1W because the seperate landmass in the capitals BFC is a real bummer when every early turn really counts. Moving frees up the 2nd seafood for a fishing village, which could pay for itself in the later part of the game when more trade routs are availible.

My tech pref would be fishing> BW> Wheel (probably more turns that one round needed for these 3!). Build would be warrior/warrior/work boat/worker (again probably more turns than availible in the first round, but just want to lewt you know what I'm thinking).

Also that is tundra to the south and I susspect that we are on the east of the landmass.
