version 3

Thanks refar for his work. I uploaded version 3. After all his work i only had 1 new addition to his!

version1 (removed after 25 DL)
Ok fellow leaderheadmakers I compiled the information in Chamaedrys' thread Leaderhead-Animations into an Excel spreadsheet.

I know some of you have additional information so please fill in all these blanks.

How the XLS is set up:

Top two rows has the legend. I made a green box for the original animations mapped to their leaders. I put N if it does not work at all. Y if it works (even with barely noticeable errors) I then also created a not number based on the row number and column number and described any adjustments needed in nifskope to make it work.

Please add to it! I'll update this post as it goes.

The latest version is in THIS POST!

I added in what i had so far and color-coded the table. I also reordered the table, so the Leaders are sorted in the order of they Art-folder names (For example Roosewelt moved from R to F since his animations are called fdr_****).

I had Asoka, Hatty, Isabella and Sitting Bull tried on everyones Greating and Pleased anims (those are the fastest/easiest to access via Pedia)

In short: Hatty is quite unfriendly. SB seems to work on almost everything with minor glitches - his face is probably quite rigid on a major bone, so the animation of facial bones do not affect it a lot.
Asoka works quite well on girls animations.

I think we can assume a kind of transitivity. For example:
Hatty looks really terrible on everything but Gandhi. Meaning not only that Gandhi will probably look OK on hatty's anims, but also quite terrible on almost everything else...

I had a slightly different approach. Specifically looking for animations to re-rig some model to, i used a kind of rating in my personal notes - representing my opinion on how hard it will be to re-rig the model to look ok on the animation. Should be usable nevertheless.

I tried some more, for a couple of ongoing projects, so there is another update.

Tried Boudica, Ghengis Khan, Mao, Huayna Capac, Tokugawa and Churchill on everyone.
- Boudica is quite stubborn. Out of the Box, she will only work on Liz and Isabella (with eye glitch). There are few she could use with some Vertex-Weight tweaking.
- Gengis Khan once again proves to be a cool dude: He will work on many Animations with only minor NIF Tweaks (Eyes, Teeth)

From what it looks so far, i believe it's safe to assume, tha no one will work on Kublai anims.

And just because i think it's hilareous. Khan on Victorias animation:

 Khan of the Victorians !

I had tired some more, but did not put my notes into the xml yet

Collected my various notes into the spreadsheet again... Quite a few combinations tried, tho i am not sure which are new from the last update.

I filled up the last blanks. The only thing untested yet is everyone on Kublai_Khan_*.kf - those would require to rotate and readjust to center the mesh within every the nif file - after that adjustment, the animations might work, but rotating and re-centering everyones NIF just for the test...

Also redone the color sheme a bit, to make "good stuff" stand out more against the rest of the "might work after long and messy editing" cases.

Full Green is now used for the few animations that will work glitch-free out of the box.
Pale Green are those, that only have minor glitches, which i am very sure of beeing fix-able by very simple Nif-Scope editing.
From here it becomes increasingly fuzzy, as it is hard to estimate, how much work will be needed to fix a glitch. Yellow'ish ones have noticeable glitches, which still might be fix-able without Blender/Max, but would certainly require some work to be put into it. The more Orange and finally Red it becomes, the heavier, more visibly - and presumably harder to fix are the glitches.

There is also a "one-page" PDF with the table and notes, which is - in theory - print-able. In theory only, because you would need a pretty sharp printer, to make it readable on A3.

Edit: Noticed that my XLS had a reference to some plugin, poeple might not have (Dont have it myself, no idea how it got there )... Not a big deal - just a warning pop-up at startup... Still... Fixed and reuploaded.

Edit: The file is in the DB now, so it will not fall victim to me cleaning out my Attachments again.

As i am at it... There is a re-animation technique i stumbled upon. I put it here, because it's a good application for the index... If it's not "common knowledge" and there is demand, i can make a extra thread with a more detailed write up. Anyway...

You can make a Body switch, without re-rigging, which can save some time. Many "foreighn" animations will screw up the face, but leave body/hands intact... The point is - If A's Body does work on B's animation, you can use NifScope to merge the A's Body TriShape into the B's nif, without actually rigging it on B's skeleton. It will still animate properly.

You might still need to use Blender, to remove the unwanted parts (like the previous owners head) but there is no need for actually rigginh the bodu an hands on the new skeleton. I used this for example, to make HoChi: it's Genghis Khan head with Mao's body. Just delted the unneeded parts, and then used NifScope to assemble him from the parts.
