So, finally after 4 days of blood sweat & tears i finished my first unit(yay me :D )
Its a Junkers Ju122 experimental jetbomber, a version of a series of
"Erprobungsflugzeuge" that never made it beyond a windtunnel model but
eventually became the Ju287.

I chose this version because it looked best.. :) ..also the final 287 was
made from scavenged parts so i felt this one looked closer to a series
production model..

EDIT: uses stealthbomber animation

NOTE: This model isnt smoothened because for some reason my blender only
exported it as solid, doesnt really matter with this model tho as it is a boxy
plane anyway..
..if you have any suggestions that would help me with that please visit my
thread about it:

..Thanks.. ..and further Thanks to ArdReiss for his Ilyushin 28 which served
as comparison (and i borrowed its animation data :) )

Very interesting plane!

good first unit (and interesting design)

i have no solution for your blender problem, i use the function without problems, but perhaps you can try something with the model (remove doubles, or remove parts of the model and look if it works than)

Yeah... maybe this one next... we do need more bombers anyways...

Hmm.. ..well.. ..I was thinking of redoing this plane sometime, you know out of the billions of different versions they designed I liked the 122 best because of its distinctive shape..
..but if you INSIST.. ..(and promise youll use it :p) I might as well fit another set of wings to the fuselage..
..btw, what do you think of this version:

and thanks everyone, didnt reply in this thread somehow..:crazyeye:

A triple-engine wings? Why not? In art mods one model could be used for the Holy Romans, and the other for the German civ.
Of course, for use by other civs then Germany a sort of teamcolored texture is a necessity... :mischief:

I haven't... and neither the Horten IX (Ho 229). ;)
First-off, it's more a fighter then a bomber... at best you'd call it a "Fighter/Bomber" along the lines of a P-47 or Me-262... a fighter that could carry a bomb or two.

I'd also call the Wiki entry wrong on calling it the Ho-229 (and saying it's wrong to call it the Go-229)... the Germans had no problems granting the production name to Gotha. Ho-IX is pre-production/test name, while Go-229 is the production name (and I'll take whatever amateur wrote that Wiki entry to task on that name... Wiki is fallible, and often incorrect).

My two cents... in either case, the Go-229 isn't a true bomber anymore then a P-47 is a bomber. The Arado 234 is a bomber... the Ju-122 is a bomber... but the Go-229 is not.

Don't start again, Wolfie. I didn't even say I consider the Ho IX a dedicated bomber.

What do you mean "start"... Saschkin was talking about needing German Jet bombers and you mentioned the "Horten IX (Ho 229)". I'm not starting anything, my comment was totally relevant as I was pointing-out exactly what the Go-229 is/was, nothing more... still a free country last time I checked... I said nothing wrong.

Ah yea, and the Ar 234 was mostly used for reconaissance :p
I think the Ar 234 as a bomber would be nicely complimented by the Me262, my (redone:rolleyes:) Ju122 would fit nicely to Coyotes Volksjäger, and the aforementioned Horten/Gotha would be a good jetfighter to go with a larger flying wing bomber like the Arado555

This is a very nice bomber. Somebody ought to do the experimental "Amerika bomber" and the U.S. B-47 to complement late WWII / early Cold War jets. :)

Actually the B-36 is the true "intercontinental" bomber the US was developing to bomb Germany from America when it looked like England would fall. If you want a successor to the B-29 for a WWII scenario, the B-36 is the bomber you seek.
