These were taken from FfH and Warhammer mods.

I have included the sounds, but i cant get them to work, anyone??

Units are from Scout to Marine of what i could fill in that is.

LH's were provided by Sword_Of_Geddon.

Dragons rock!
I combined them with Lizards to have 12 Reptile Civs. Both modulars are awesome.

I made another dragon leader with my cousin. He is quite the skilled artist and is a professional user of 3d studio max. Here it is:

I'm working on revamping the old ones too...

My one suggestion on this would be to change the unit mesh groups to one per group rather than three, particularly for the larger dragons.

So I was stoked to download a dragon-based civ, as I am a noob to the Civ Modding.

I went on a spree, downloaded a bunch of stuff. Mostly yours. Figured out how to use created civs. Good times.

But then, as I'm going through the leaders on the custom game to see who's available, I see names that are familiar to me.

Togashi. Agasha. Mirumoto. Kitsuki. Even Fu Leng.

Wow!

So, let's skip all the pleasantries. How serious could you get about making an L5R mod? With all the clans, either represented by samurai & shugenja, or by the animal of the mon, or both?

DUDE. Dude.

I'm new to modding civs myself, but I've done a little with good success. With the side effect of one or two city improvements covering half my continent, but that aside!

I've mainly been looking for dragon models for a new mod I've been creating. The scenario is that dragons are an advanced (bipedal) alien race who once visited Earth and then left again. Later on, after humans have an apocalyptic era, another dragon expedition is sent to Earth to "check up" on humans. However, those who disagree with the expedition sabotage the gateway, effectively marooning the dragon colony on a drastically changed Earth in the midst of a bunch of primitive humans, and their goal becomes to survive, and if possible, complete their mission and perhaps even build a gateway back to their home (that story is developing).

My problem: finding suitable units. Until! I saw your mod (StrategyOnly) Land of Dragons. The screenshot is here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads/land of dragons_0w8.jpg

The bipedal dragon guy in the center of the screenshot there is exactly the kind of units I've been looking for. Unfortunately, the Land of Dragons file is no longer available :( I was hoping to get in contact with you to see if you could provide those models so I could incorporate them into the mod? Mostly this mod is for my own play, but if I get the kinks worked out, I've considered posting it for others to play too and I'd give all credits where credits are due.

Hi Strategy! Thanks for the tip :) Unfortunately, I'm having some issues installing the dragon civ : \

At first, my problem was that the mod loaded fine but the dragon civs themselves didn't show up. So I searched around for answers till I found this:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=6488928&postcount=10

I followed your instructions to a T - I have not changed any of the files, except for the one you instructed modding in the text. Now, the mod does show up and load but as the game is reloading into the mod, I get a ton of XML parsing errors, which say something about "Fill_In_Blank xml file needs a top level." I did note that the xml errors always mentioned the names of the dragon leaders/civilizations that are in the mod.

The file paths I've tried this with (with the same results) are:

D:\Program Files (x86)\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\DragonCivs\Assets\Modules\Custom Civilizations

and

D:\Program Files (x86)\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\DragonCivs\Assets\Modules\Custom Civilizations\Dragons

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated :)

The one in red, is that the name of "Your" mod?

Yes it is - you mentioned that the folder could be named anything, yes? I just put in DragonCivs so I knew which mod was the one with the dragons. Did I misunderstand and it should be named something else?

-- Edit:

The name of the mod I'm working on is "Atlantica" - I hadn't tried to install the dragon civs into it just yet. I was just going to try playing a game with the dragon civilizations first to get ideas of what the units were like. DragonCivs is just the folder that I named the "Mod" folder to put the custom civ folder in.

Are you sure you have updated to the current patch 3.19 manually?

Yes, actually I just got finished reinstalling the game itself about 30 minutes ago. I recently had a hard drive failure on my OS drive ,so the files were there but it wasn't "installed" on the system, so I deleted the whole Fraxis games folder and just reinstalled Civ IV and BTS, and applied the 1.61, 1.74 and 3.19 patches

--- Just to clarify, I had downloaded the patch files from the Fraxis website and installed them that way, I didn't do it through the update feature in the game.

Sure :) Do you want a copy of the Mods folder or just the DragonCivs folder? I'll have to sign up for a FF account so it might take me a few.

One question that might help avoid some confusion - does the "Mod" folder I create actually have to have a mod in it, or can it just be an empty file structure down to the custom civ folder where I put the additional civ? If it needs more than just the civ files, that might be my problem.

Hiya! I think I may have found the problem. I tried several more things to try and get the civ to work, but it simply ran into the same issues. Then I noticed I had misread the error: it said that the XML file needed a "top level element."

So, I decided to go check out the XML files in case there were typos, or something I could fix. When I opened up the XML files that were mentioned, it was a long string of nothing but [NULL][NULL][NULL][NULL] (etc...)

I then tried opening some of the jpgs and bmps in the folder, but only a few of them worked, the rest refused to open because apparently they were corrupted. I'm going to try redownloading the civ file to see if that fixes it and report back :)

------------

Edit: Great news! Redownloading fixed it! Unfortunately though, none of the units are the one bipedal dragon displayed in the image screenshot from Land of Dragons :( Do you happen to still have the unit files for that guy, and/or any dragons similar to him? The one I'm referring to is the brownish red biped, with the armor and the Green/yellow flag next to him. Thanks for your time Strategy :) I really appreciate it.
