A modular FFH2 0.31 mod, "Blasted Garden" provides players another crack at getting Reagents.

Download here.

V0.5 - Seems to work.

Two versions are included.
In both versions the wonder "Blasted Garden" requires the Sorcery tech., is built twice as quickly by a leader with Summoner, and provides:
1 Reagent
+1 trade route for its city.
Some food, and some unhealth.
A promotion for units built in the city.

The version "rww" gives each unit built in the city the Mutated promotion.
Food: +1
Health: -3
Cost: 450

The version "rwwh" gives each arcane unit built in the city Spell Extension 1.
Food: +2
Health: -3
Global Health: +1
Cost: 400

The main idea is to provide another way to get Reagents for anyone who thinks they're either not common enough or the consequences of not getting them are too dire for some civ/religion combinations.

The health, food, and Promotion benefits are to add some interest to the process.

I was tempted to make the BG available at KotE, so that someone without Reagents could have them available (via the wonder) by the time they got AV priests. But I'd rather such players had to squirm a little. :) And anyone can easily change the tech requirement.

Should the Blasted Garden supply more than one Reagent? You're supposed to bring enough to share, after all.

I'm undecided about the cost, and just how much I want the Wonders to do other than provide Reagents.

Does it give the Mutated Promotion, or does it Mutate the unit?

The building gives "PROMOTION_MUTATED," and units built do mutate. (Is there a way to only do the latter?)

You can mutate them, look at the code used by Freaks (they start automatically mutated). Not sure if you can mutate them without applying Mutated unless you hijack the code for the spell Mutate and just omit that particular line.

Of course, that wouldn't be modular... I'll look at it later.

Freaks start mutated because they start with mutated. I believe that whenever a unit gets this promotion, even when first created, it mutates them.
