I'm playing a OCC game in BtS and I have come up against a weird PA issue.

I'm trying to PA with Zara, was in a shared war for 10 or so turns early in the game and signed a DP on turn 148. It was interrupted by a holy war (AP inspired), we're both involved. It is now over turn 200 and he is still saying we haven't had a shared DP or war for long enough. Do AP inspired wars not count? Is it more than 40 turns needed for a PA? Basically, what's going on?

What i observed in BTS in that last minor - was war and dp do not add in all cases - you need 40 of one or the other. There were several times i was left waiting thinking that the time should have been up. Is it possible that DP and war only add if you are in DP then the DP is activated by war on you or partner leading to a war consequent to DP. I didnt pay close enough attention to be precise on the general rules for all occasions - but in the one game i did make a careful notation of the turns so i am sure they did not add in that game.

You need 40 of either and they can be combined, BUT being in a mutual war reduces the number of DP turns you have accumulated previously (but not vice-versa). So you can use a DP to "top-up" early war turns but if you make a DP and then go to war (like Ozbenno did) each war turn undoes the effect of your DP.

Ah that would explain a lot of the anomalies. Thanks for the tip.
