Hi!
I'm looking to create a mod/modcomp for a new tech tree system. The basic idea is, when you research a tech (ie "Projectile Weaponry") that gives a unit, building, or wonder, there are several units you might get (ie you may get an archer, or a slinger, or a javelineer). This makes research more dynamic, as you aren't completely sure what you'll get, and adds to diplomacy, in that you can trade this knowledge.
The best way i see this being handled is to put the units in their own hidden child techs, one of which is automatically researched when the parent tech is researched.
Onto my request:
A) a Tag that identifies the tech as a "child" tech (and a parent tech, if need be). this tech would make it invisible in the tech screen, visible in diplomacy, and have a chance of being automatically researched (an equal or adjustable chance in comparison to other child techs) when the parent is researched.
Any help/takers would be very much appreciated, and of course receive credit and thanks for their work
