AP-1: Saladin the Tolerant (RFC)

Islam is superior to all religions but it should also be tolerant (not just to Jews and Christians).

Start as Arabia 600 AD
Goals:
1. Win by diplomatic victory; 2/3 UHV is OK; no time limit
a. Control or vassalize Spain, Carthage and Egypt by 1300
b. Control 3 holy shrines by 1300
c. Spread Islam to 40% of world population
2. Capture all holy cities of the world
3. Have at least 1 city in each continent that has all religions (i.e. we control those cities)
4. Converting at least 1 city of each civ to Islam
5. In any city with only Islam, theaters and banks cannot be built.
6. Enforce free religion with UN mandate.

Note that this will require Rhye's and Fall of Civilization (BTS v. 1.181). Beware of stability!

How about we just go with four?

OK, I guess we should drum up some progress in this SG. I played an extra 3 turns just to show my usual Arabian gambit. Next moves should probably be to build some defenders in Shiraz/Baghdad, capture Patna (for the 2 shrines), get a great priest to send to Jerusalem, and capturing all the way to Carthage after those pesky barbs are done (we've already killed 2 camel archers and 4 horse archers, and two more are coming). We have a settler waiting in Alexandria, which I usually send to somewhere in Morocco or Carthage (the former will give us elephants and close contact to Spain) after Hesperides/Tripoli are captured (remember the UHV requires us to control Carthage's area too). Remember we need some monasteries in India to spread the religions around later.

Yes, onedreamer, have meaning we own that city, not "have" as in have in existence. Sorry about the confusion. And you're welcome to join.

I'm probably going to need to take a skip on my first round here. I have to go to the hospital in a few minutes for a hernia operation which will keep me there for four days to recover. I'll report in when I'm back.
