The following is collection of events which have occurred in the NES A Brave New World. This thread will be used to update the locations of the updates in order to keep people aware of the histories of their nations. This should be the first stop for any player aspiring to enter into the NES, so that they may be kept aware of the events which have occurred since the start. If you are joining the NES, or even just playing, you must look at this thread and the updates.

Treaties and agreements which occurred between the updates are included here as well. Not abiding by a signed treaty can often to unfortunate consequences and diplomatic repercussions. If you have been playing and have signed a secret treaty with someone which no longer matters, please let me know, so I can include it under the correct year.

Lastly, this thread is also a thread for discussion of A Brave New World, particularly anything relating to events since the start of the NES. This can include “what if” questions, “why did _____ do that” questions, and limited OOC gloating. Enjoy.

Geneva Conference
Please see link for the Geneva Conference and related treaties:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=286501

I usually only do it once every ten years game time, but I guess I can make an exception for it.

Well, I'm going to wait to do links again when I have a working home NES computer. However, I've provided brief summaries for all wars at the top of the page, with the exceptions of the more recent conflicts.

Here's a breif "what if" question to our readers here:

What if Connecticut had extracted more from Massachusetts after victory in the First Rhode Island War?

Interesting question. Supposing Connecticut did plumb Massachusetts for all it's worth, then its interests might have remained localized, meaning the Massachusettians would never have caught them off guard. In fact, you might in the long run see a New England being dominated from Hartford and not Boston (and not just because of the immediate gains, but because Connecticut and its ambitious king might want a bigger piece of the pie).
