this time i wanted to try to create a complete new unit (means not based on a real model - it only exist in my imagination before i started). But after finishing the second fighter, i had the feeling i had seen them before :lol:.

Working names are EF3000 and BAE Blizzard (don´t aks why the files have a "t")

EF3000 (left pic)

the model has 388 vertices, 512 triangels, 256 skin (128 gloss for FX version)
FX and non FX version included
uses changed JetFighter animation (engine effect, weapon effect - included)
scale for picture: 0.48

i already made two other fictional planes, but both are unreleased so far because they are based on a design made by Zerver (and are for his upcoming mod) and therefor i wait until i get the ok to release the models
 
Wow. The one on the right pic is my clear favourite. I like its flat shape and the guns at the front.

Would be nice to include in MOO2Civ (which is a FF mod)... would be cooler still if you'd apply your skills to some actual spaceships. (Hint, hint) :mischief:

These units look really cool. But, I copied it into a mod to try it out, and the ship seems to be underground. I just replaced the gunship artdef with the kfm/nif in your zipfile. Please see attached screenshot. Is there something extra I should do in the xml?

Also, it seems to me that the weapons fire backwards. I wasn't able to capture that in a screenshot, but when I watch the animation, the weapons fire definitely seems to go out the back.
 
i believe your problem is cause because you used the gunship as base. He is set to "Domin_Ground" in the Civ4UnitInfos.xml and raised through the animation, planes use a the "Domain_Air". Both domains mean different levels where the units are set. [Domain_Ground = z-axis 0 is the ground, Domain_Air = z-axis 0 is the flight level of planes in game].
Try to change the domain, if there is still an issue please post again
 
linked the two fighters to the FF Fighter animation (JEELEN request), only nifs included, so regular download for textures (the three dds files) necessary. And also only fx version. Both (!) nifs included in the BAe Blizzard download (folder starfighter)
