Fusion power plants
Comes with fusion tech. A nuclear plant, but no more meltdowns or uranium.
I am an idea machine!

They should still have a chance of meltdown. Can you not imagine a nuclear fusion plant exploding?
How about a hydrogen bomb as a new unit. Or is that too similar to an ICBM to be added. |

There is no radioactive material in a fusion reaction. If the containment field around the taurus were to fail, the plasma is so sparse it would just expand and cool very quickly to room temperature.

I like this idea. All of the other power plants have some sort of drawback or risk, or restrictions on where they can be built. A fusion plant would have no downside except that comes much later than the others. They would be "phased in" as a replacement to other power sources (except Hydro).

The warheads of ICBMs are MIRVd hydroden fusion bombs; so they're essentially the same thing. The problem is that Civ nerfs nukes (but hates power generation).

I don't know why they insist on making nukes suck so bad. The global warming thing is rediculous. There's no oxidation involved with a nuclear weapon, so there is no CO2 generated; it should actually cause an ice age.

I'd like to see fusion plants and H-Bomb units, but unless someone makes a mod or colonization is more detailed than one would want, I don't think its gonna happen.

I suppose a Fusion plant is fine, but I REALLY want to see Antimatter in the game. I mean, really, we have already been synthesized it on several occasions even today, we just haven't made enough of it to be useful. That should all change in around 50 years.
For those of you who don't know what antimatter is, you should probably google or wiki it. But I'll give you the short version: This stuff is insane. Half a pound of antimatter can create as much energy as a 50-ton nuclear reaction. And unlike nuclear explosions, there is no fallout and no nuclear waste (there is a lot of radiation though). |

The fact that Fusion is (as of BTS) a "Future" era tech would suggest to me that they don't have it. Remember the real world doesn't work quite like Civ, it's not a matter of researching clearly defined technology modules. "Currently experimenting with fusion" means that they haven't yet discovered the tech, they're just researching it. It's on that bar up the top.
