I use Baba Yetu/Civ4 Vanilla. I first heard the song before I got the game and loved it. As soon as I found out I could switch from the BtS song to Baba Yetu I did. (when I got the game, Warlords and BtS were already out)

Baba Yetu is just amazing. Probably the best video game song I've ever heard (or at least in the top 10). I linger on the menu screen to hear the whole song almost every time I start up the game. :)

Also, I blame Baba Yetu for my lack of warmongering. How can I go and destroy when I hear that wonderful song, that makes me want to go and hug all of the other civilizations leaders and unite humanity?

I think a switch to Warlords or BtS would drastically help my warmongering. :trouble: :trouble: :trouble:

Anyway, how about you?

I switched back to the vanilla/Baba Yetu menu. I also changed the opening movie back to the original one. I usually skip by it, but sometimes I like getting drawn in and immersed in the game's world by sweeping in from space, down through the clouds, right into a middle of a classical-era war... and where there's a peaceful coronation going on right next door. Okay, the movie doesn't make a lot of sense, but it looks cool, and we all know that that's what's really important, right?

I've always used whatever menu was at the time (despite ways to circumvent that)... until now. I don't care to even give a chance to BTS Classical, went right back to BTS.

The giant banner in BTS classical was to much for me, I went back to BTS normal

Baba yetu all the way. It's just to good to pass by. And since my cpu is slow, i get to hear most of it while waiting for the game to load.

Sis-how do you i change the movie?

I've done that, trust me, I need to hear Baba Yetu, but sis said he changed the movie before the menu.

I got curious too. I figured it out, and here's how:

Go to your standard Civ4 folder of Assets/Art/Movies/Intro, and copy the largest one there (named Intro.bik or something similar). Then, go to the same folder, but for Beyond the Sword (so, Sid Meier's Civilization 4/Beyond the Sword/Assets/Art/Movies/Intro), and paste it there. Backup your old one first (renaming it is fine), and then rename your Civ4 vanilla one to what the standard BTS one is. Load the game to see the video in all it's glory! :)

I had never actually seen the movie properly (my old computer was far too bad), so it was very moving to see it now.

edit: Attached a screenshot of the movie he wanted to see.

Well, the plot is kind of muddy ( when I first saw it i thought it was a recreation of the Actium battle ( the area is the same and it is a naval battle between roman styled galleys ), but seeing a guy being crowned medieval styled in the middle of sphynxes and in a building that looked like a Greco Roman temple ..... :crazyeye:

But by far the best of Civ IV ( atleast IMHO ).I kind of like BtS one as well...

P.S you can always use RAD tools to see all the Civ IV films without loading the game ;)

thank you

Standings never lie. ;)

Back on topic...BTS' movie isn't too bad either, but it's surprising that it is so small in size compared to vanilla Civ4's movie. For the purposes of this thread, I use the original Civ4 menu too.

Imagine pulling up in your car to a red light with Baba Yetu blaring. That sweet melody with its incomprehensible lyrics and congo drums coming through 18" stereo speakers beating up the block and turning heads... Ah, the definition of cool!

Yeah, I still use vanilla.

Don't really care. What ever is up there is up there and I'm not hot on changing it as I don't spend my time oggling over the menu screen.

Switched back to the old Vanilla screen as soon as I figured out how. I just prefer the old Baba Yetu music to the BtS or Warlords music.
