The polycount is unfortunately a lot higher...
tankrf8.jpg

But the textures are very good. With these textures you should be able to achieve a good result with a lot less polygones.

to someone who understands however polycounts are figured, cause i don't :)

so what's the poly count?

2078 like in op

or is it 10002 the same as the triangles, or 5265 the same as vertices as in crash's post

thanks

Doesn't VD already have a T-90 tank?

There are two T-90 models floating around. The second one, while much better looking than the first, has a rather high poly count.
I just recently "borrowed" one from VD 3.6... it was the only one I saw in there... which is that?

And when you say one of the earlier ones is "high poly", how does it compare with this one which is also "high poly"... which is higher?

Polycount goes to Triangles.
Both the OP screenshot and the NifViewer screenie display triangles counts.
The one you get diplayed in NifViewer is what the game engine must handle in the end.

The difference between what the author seen in max and what he ended up having in the export is because of a pecularity of the exporter.

@GeS - try exporting "Not Stripped", it should give you the same polycount on the exported file as you see in max.
Stripifying geometry does improve the perfpormance a bit (a document firaxis released says something around 20% - IIRC). It does however also increase the polycount - usually just a bit, but on some models (usually those having a bit higher polycount in the first place) the increase in Polycount will be huge. Obviously 20% performance improvement is egalized by 500% polycount, so it is better to skip stripifying.
