I made this unit as part of the Final Update for the "EFZI2 The Remake" scenario but he is certainly willing to have a Few Drinks in your game if you have a need for a Fun "Flaming Hero" to Burn your enemies with Booze "Molotov Cocktails"

Special Thanks to Bjornlo for making the Special Bag, Bottle and Rag Props and themanuneed for making many Great Bottle sounds for me to mix and use with my sounds for this unit.

Because The Drunk needed to move slowly, the animations are very long. The Attack is actually one Attack but I separated it into three Attacks in order to have the game play the sounds and animations correctly. Game Situations, such as turning away from a Battle or a Death, will play the sounds and animations correctly this way. Attacks are Looping animations and the Reason why extremely long attack animations will not play sounds correctly in the game...so this is a work around that works much better.

The Alcohol Fire needed to be Blue in color and I believe it appears as translucent without actually being translucent other than the translucent shades I placed around the flames.

All Attack directions were made separately so the Bottles and Flames Hit the enemy exactly where they should. There is no way to have a Bombardment and Attack with this type Unit due the distances in which the Game dictates for each situation... so The Drunk is an Attack Unit with No Bombardment. I recommend high Attack setting.

This unit uses three palettes due to the need for different colors in the Attack, Fidget and Death but all Unit colors are the same on the palettes to keep the Unit looking the same in all animations.

This Unit was a real Chore to make for many reasons and I hope some of you will be able to "Buy him a Drink" in your personal games.

Game Tested and all files included

Edit: The extra Fire zip has three differently colored Flame Flcs of the Flame Attack if anyone has a need for them. Alcohol Fire, Bold Fire and Yellow Fire. You can simply add the Flame colors on the palettes to your Unit Colors then add the Flames to your animation as you like for the Unit or just a fire. Frame size is 200 x 200, 13 Frames in length and each flame hits the enemy exactly in all directions. The Fire Zip File is uploaded below.

Fantastic unique unit, love how the he tosses the bottle after downing it and it rolls away, but you make it disappear before it rolls off frame:thumbsup:

For some reason a bit from the movie Twister comes to mind:
"So he strolls up to the twister and says, "Have a drink!" and he chucks the bottle into the twister, and it never hits the ground."

Holy cow, that's well animated! I love the walk.

Orthanc... yes, it is a "pet Peeve" of mine to have anything be Cut Off as it leaves a frame. This way, the Bottle Rolls out of sight rather than be Cut Off as it rolls through the Frame edge.

Mithadan... It is always difficult to have a Walk animation but check out the .ini Speeds. This is a new way of handling slow moving units that works better. I still do not know enough to tell how to set these speeds but it appears to be less for slow and more for fast. Experimentation will show but this is a way to Deal with slow moving Units.

Hope you all actually look at the Unit in Game because neither the previews nor Flicster will show the real way it appears in game.

...also hope you like the sounds...themanuneed helped Greatly by providing me with Excellent Bottle sounds for this unit. He is a "Professional Sound Man" and a Good Guy.

This Unit is for Fun and I am sure many of you can relate to the Fidget... at least from your early years

Bear this quote in mind when thinking of using molotov's on zombies. It's one of the extras (The Lost Tape: Andy's Terrifying Last Days) from the 2004 version of Dawn of the Dead:

"Okay, so I tossed the f---ing molotov. Not good. Not even for one thing, It won't do s--t, it just burns for awhile and leaves um cooked and smellin like Jimmy Dean and now I’m really f---ing hungry."

Interesting unit. It will fit perfectly in EFZI.

Tank_Guy#3... Yes that is Funny concerning "The Lost Tape: Andy's Terrifying Last Days"... yummy, Cooked Zombies:lol:
The Drunk will replace the Pyromaniac Unit for the Farmers so they will be able to build this unit. The Drunk will also be available to any Human Faction who Captures or Builds the "Booze Imports" Key Location at the Wild Boar Inn.
...I thought this unit would be more fitting than the Strippers that were produced there before. Besides, Strippers are produced from the Gentleman's Club anyway:)
I set him with a stronger Attack and an extra Defense point because he will not have a "Bombardment" as the Pyromaniacs do. When testing this Unit, the settings worked very well and the Alcohol Flames look good on the Dark Map.

Top quality Vuldacon.

I always dreamed of having a molotov cocktail thrower in the game and this surpasses anything I ever imagined.

Thanks King Arthur... Glad you like him :)

I decided to Upload three Flame Flcs I made that are differently colored for any Unit Maker who wants a Fire for a Unit or situation such as a Molotov Cocktail where a different Colored Fire is desirable. Use if or as you like...The Fire Zip is uploaded to the 1st Post above. If you need a Fire sound let me know.

Great Unit Vuldacon!!!! Knowing the time spent and headaches endured in making this unit, I must say it turned out very nice!!!!! As usual, another creative, unique and most entertaining unit by the master!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You crack me up with this unit! This must be the funniest Civ unit ever made!
The fidget is a hoot!

Hey! I'm coming very late to congratulate you for this unit Vulda ! It has turned out very well and I can't wait to see it in game. As I already told you, such a crazy unit deserves the first place in the unit of the month contest, at least in the "never seen before" category  It is cool, smooth and very well done. I can't see any point that could be criticized on this one. I am very proud of the job done on the sounds, especially in the victory anim. Glad I could help, man ! Keep on making such wonderful units, even if it takes time ! :goodjob:

WOW, Thanks All of you for such Great Comments!

It pleases me that I am not alone in relating to the Fidget animation :)... at least during the youthful years of life  That would probably kill a Zombie more than the Molotov Cocktail... I know it almost kills the one having to go through it

Bjornlo made some very good props and deserves Great Credit for his work. themanuneed supplied me with Many Excellent Bottle Sounds he made fast that are professional quality and were a pleasure to work with and he deserves Great Credit... Thanks you guys :goodjob:

All of you Guys are "Real Characters" and brighten my day...Thanks:D
