Welcome to the Riga Peace Conference. I apologize for the chilly weather, but you will find it warm enough in here. The wine is Russian-made, and as you can see it more than equals its more famous cousins. But enough talking: let's start compromising now, and hopefully finish before winter ends and overzealous commanders once more lead their troops into battle.

For comprehension's sake, I will split this [thread] up into North American and Euroafrasian sections, and I ask you to do the same with your [posts].

Euroafrasia



An additional topic you should keep in mind is the Austro-Turkish war. Austria has previously insisted that this is a separate conflict [most of warman's comments were OOC], but if it is left unresolved it might lead to another world conflict, and forcing Austria and Bavaria to end their war with the Ottomans sound like a more fitting punishment than forcing them to pay for a war they mostly did not fight in, at least in my opinion. My suggestion is at the end of the next [spoiler-tagged-thingy].

Brief rule about division of territories and granting of requests
Once at least one major member from each winning alliance (France for the French alliance, Virginia, the Netherlands, and/or New England for the TAP) post here saying that they agree with the division of a region, they will be crossed off the list, until (if) someone objects.

The Netherlands agrees with everything in the treaty but wishes to retain it's hold on winslow and Gambia, as is their right.

All right, well i'll have the list of NPCs and their own requests in a little bit.

Bitter laughter is emanating from the Parliament and His Majesty, Belgium will continue to fight she will not be annexed willingly.

To hell with France and to hell with the Organist scum.

Belgium didn't endure years of repression by the Protestant ****'s across the border, fight a war to retain her independence in the face of French and Dutch aggression and lose so many men to be annexed when she is still fighting free.

Spain does not care where Winslow goes.

I believe the Treaty of Montreal is good for Canada.

New Jersey should be a dependency of France.

I believe Ohio should be Virginian. Michigan will be an independent republic (dependency to Virginia?). And Illinois will be annexed to the Saulk-Fox.

Belize, I could give two craps about. Possibly Guatemala. If we could help the Yucatan out, we could give it to them.

The Caribbean could be independent. Or split.

British Guyana goes to the Dutch. No question.

Falklands, I don't really care.

Also, I recommend that Flanders go to the Dutch, while Wallonia goes to France.

France's suggestions:

Regarding British Isles:

1. France ensure the safe carrying out of independence plebiscites in Scotland and Wales.
2. England proper and London returned to Britain.
3. Britain may never again construct a navy numbering more than TEN (10) vessels.
4. Britain may never have more than 50,000 soldiers serving in the armed forces.
5. Britain may not establish any new colonies abroad.
6. Britain may never invade its possible new neighbors of Wales and Scotland.

Regarding the British colonies:

1. The Raj and Australia are turned over to France, as well as all British Pacific and Indian Ocean Island colonies.
2. Britain has no more colonies.

Regarding the Germans:

1. Austria and Bavaria sign a ten-year peace treaty with the Trans-Atlantic Pact and the Imperium of France.
2. Austria cede Venice to Italy.
3. France pay Austria 50,000 francs for services rendered and goods delivered.
4. France agrees to Russia's suggestions regarding the Ottoman-Austrian peace.

Regarding America:

1. Indiana and Illinois are given to Saulk-Fox.
2. New Jersey is turned over to Imperial authority.
3. Quebec annexes Canada.


Anything not explicitly stated above is not expressly forbidden by France. Naturally we are open for suggestions and requests since this is an open forum. But these are what France demands.

Nope. I stand by my ally France.

EDIT: And since they made a deal, Belgium will go to the Dutch.

China is happy with getting what was once British China.

It is obvious to all involved that Austria beat the Italian army in Italy. If we are not to cede Vienna, France could hypothetically not pay the reparations. (They're dismal reparations, anyway.)

Austria will also continue the war with the Ottomans if Moldavia is at stake.

It is also obvious that France is prepared to enforce these options. If Austria will not peacefully accept the terms then France will take Venice by force, and give the Austrians their fifty thousand francs whether they want it or not.

Virginia would agree to the annexation of Ohio (northern and southern) and the creation of a Pennsylvanian state more "friendly" towards Richmond.

Burma fought with New England in capturing Malaysia and Singapore. And defended New England's colonies from attack. We have recevied nothing for our support.

In addition, China also requests that its sovereignty over its coast will be preserved such that nothing akin to the imperialist efforts of the British that occurred in the 1840s will happen again.

The Ottoman Empire will not sign the proposed peace by Russia. We will not cede land which has not been taken from us. Need we remind Russia and the Austrians that we have not been truly defeated, and with the closing of war in the west France and its allies full might can be levied against Austria.

We will agree to nothing less than allowing Islamic Bosnia the right to become an Ottoman protectorate.

Virginia would like to see our fiends in Burma compensated for their loyalty and friendship.

The Empire of Sweden-Norway demands to keep the Bahamas.

Given Denmark's actions in the war France seeks to properly reward the Danes. Thus we suggest the following changes:

1. Denmark will annex Malta.
2. British West Africa will become a colonial province of the Danish Empire.
3. The Shetland and Orkney Islands will return to their rightful place under the Danish crown.
4. The British West Indies will be ceded to Denmark.

I disagree.

I don't really mind a Swedish Bahamas. They'll be good neighbors to Florida or Cuba. Those minor islands could be Danish. Trinidad and Tobago should go to the Dutch. Jamaica, possibly Georgia.

A Caribbean state could work.

But British West Africa should belong to me. British Northwest Africa (the one bordering Portugal) should be Portuguese.
