Please note that it takes a while for this to load, it’s got a lot of files to get through, give your computer a minute or two to sort it out.

Okay, so first I'll Highlight the new civ Gran Colombia. This is a personal favorite, the first I made, and I love how it turned out. Just a lot of fun to play. BTW, I'm a big fan of Bolivar's music, the variation in the different eras was a lot of fun.

The Native America thing was killed when I went for the Iroquois, so now it is Sioux and Iroquois. The Iroquois are led by Hiawatha and he uses the same music he had in Civ III, so it should bring back a few memories.

A lot of people don't like this Hiawatha, I think most of Private Messages had to do with him not being what was expected. All I can tell you is that this combination was the best for making him look unlike any other leader, something I strive for in each new Leader. I hate looking at a leader and saying, "Isn't that Ghandi in a Tuxedo?" This is a reskin of Shaka with some attached effects, edited build and Saladin Animations. It works fairly well, in my opinion.

Italy was the last Civ I put in, and to be honest I was REALLY on the fence about the whole Idea. But I just couldn't get away from it, and over time saw this Lorenzo di Medici base that someone had sharpened up from the Final Frontier scenario, and wanted it in. So ...

Alright, so a brief background here. I knew NOTHING about Poland before Civ IV BTS was announced. What sucked me in was the countless posts of TheLastOne36 until I finally started looking some stuff up. Poland's rabid fanbase actually provided great music and the Hussar, and I'm a believer now. I also went Casimir the Restorer as a leader, was pretty impressed with his story. So Poland is in.

Likewise, Israel was mostly done by another, better modder than myself. But I pride myself on recognizing good work, and so I made the most of it. However, I wanted to really work with the modern state more than the Biblical Empire, so I chose David Ben Gurion, which Ekmek graciously provided, and then created the Merkava. I confess, I tried extremely hard to ONLY make Unique Units and Buildings where the General Unit had only been replaced once or not at all. I shied away from another UU swordsman like the Maccabee and went for the Merkava instead.

I think avoiding repetition is a key for fun gameplay. These civs needed to offers something special.

And Here's the next civ, Kongo. For the record, Kongo, Zulu, Ethiopia and Mali all utilize the African Artstyle, lovingly ripped from the EDU mod. Hey, credit where credit is due, I find it to be a little overkill to make every civ unique, but not having African people was a bit much.

BTW, the slinger is way fun. Archers without archery, it let's a protective person research anything they want without having to beeline one tech to play to their strength. And Nzinga looks better than ever these days.

Okay, I wasn't going to show off every Civ, but I got carried away. So here is Polynesia, with Salamasina. BTW, my wife loves Civ IV and used Salamasina on an Earth2 map and kicked some serious butt. She declared the Civ a success. I'm a lucky man, I know. She's even looking forward to Colonization when it comes out this fall.

BTW, I confess that Kongo, Polynesia and Gran Colombia got some initial interest as geographic filler to make the game more worldwide. But now, after research and writing the Civpedia stuff, I feel that all three are worthy contributions on their own, but I'm still pleased we could give a more global feel in this pack.

So Hitler is in, so is Pol Pot and Hirohito. I know a lot of people have issues with these three, and Ruhollah Khomeini of the Arabs is also in. They are in as pivotal historical figures, not as admirable role models. If anyone finds these guys offensive, just know that to offend was not my intent. But I think, given the presence of Mao, Stalin and Ghenghis Khan, it is more important to look at a Leader's historical importance rather than his morals.

There is a lot more to see, but I'm out of attachment space. The wonders look good, the fuel promotion is great, helicopters carrying special forces provide great late-game fun. Check it all out.

This expansion is the result of a lot of work. It represents what is in my opinion some of the best work on the Civfanatics site, rolled up into a final package. I'd say 75 percent of this expansion is the work of others, but as I've been forming this for 8 months now, it's hard to remember who belonged to what. But here it is, nevertheless. Enjoy it.

A special THANK YOU to all the people who gave advice or contributed to this pack. I was constantly on these forums asking for different pieces of art or some kind of advice about how to configure a file. A big shout out to Tsentmon for the Great Diplomat mod. He really did the part I despaired of EVER getting it done. In fact I was ready to release it without the Great Statesman, but I couldn't let it go.

Thanks to the CivGold team, Fall from Heaven, and Dale's Road to War. Huge chunks of the units, leaders and other buildings came out of those three mods, while I just hunted as best I could for the other stuff on the forums. Thanks for everything! I love this game.

Just the latest, it's now updated and ready to be downloaded. Thought I had it good to go yesterday, but now I'm all done. Please download this mod and give it a shot, and post any feedback. I'm open to the idea of improving it in the future.

downloading now... looks promising.

I'm getting an error when attempting to load the mod. Just tells me that the program has encountered a program and if I want to report it to Microsoft...

I too have recieved this error message and was going too redownload the and try once more and I will see if I can get more specfic if I encounter the issue again

well I stilll got errors in the unload it has to do with gamecore dll not sure what that means but it also says "header corrupt" hope it helps:confused:

I get the error too.

The mod looks promising... I hope you get it worked out.
