LINESII - The Council of Kallamas

By the Order of the Eldarium of Veritas, the Uniarch of the Holy Church of the One, His Republican Majesty Erias I of Paleaveritas, and the High Assemblums of Redemption, Lux, and Unias.

The ancient empires of the past have fallen. Khemri has collapsed, Gorin is a small shadow of her past imperial majesty, and though the Valin Republics have been restored, much work remains to be done.

Veritas once defeated Khemri, after the Battle of Guitar. While our motives were pure, the salvation of Nurmafer, we sought to dominate Khemri alone. That was the birth of our arrogance, which led to the betrayal and death of the Old Republic.

The most recent wars have swept across Tellus, and borders have become confused, peoples displaced, anarchy and disorder enthroned. We call this council so that the balance of Order, a tenet of our faith, might be restored to the world.

Primarily, we invite the enemies of Anabet the Usurper to lay down their desires. With our allies, we shall decide the fate of Khemri. But we will also give the defeated Khemrans and Emorans a chance to plead their case.

This council also serves to forge a fair compromise for the many border disputes that have arisen during these wars: Between Khemri and Myocaca, the Crystalists, Croyodon, and Gorin; and so on.

While the Valin Republics and her allies shall have the final decision, as is our right as victors, it will be an ordered peace, protected by the rule of law, which is greater than any king. We will enforce the decisions of this council.

So who's invited to this shindig?

Everyone can say what they want, but only members of the Alliance against Anabet (Veritas, Kehexou, Zamdar, Achostai, Kalmar, Gorin, Dengarai) will actually have votes on the Council.

Is Otaria included in this? its currently disputed terrority?

We believe that Exilsium, or Otaria as the Bladeists call it, was illegally occupied and its' people genocided by the Swade. The 'sea raiders' are possibly descendants of the oppressed Valin population rising in rebellion.

But, we would accept a peace agreement that allows these 'raiders' to live on the eastern half of the island, while the Bladeists take the western half.

Achostai and Gorin are the other PC's that need to declare being here, the rest are NPC's that Iggy can declare.

Thats the best option, we'll vote in favour.

OOC: Croyodon is also pc, we're talking about Gorin here aswell right?

Croyodon should probably be here too. And Myocaca, Iron Face, etc.

Kal can even make an appearance if he feels like negotiating, but it won't be an easy peace either way.

Representatives of Gorin are present but are currently with holding a statement until Khemri has given a reason for their betrayal and has pleaded their case.

I just had another thought, if Gorin is to fall and it looks that way, It might be worth sending an army accross the mountains to secure a small puppet kingdom of all the major population centres.

The Testimony of Emor

We had struggled for a long time to regain a homeland after its destruction at the hands of the Bladeists, and along the Wardash river, upon the ruins of many cultures- Mogul, Gerber, Tristarian. Here, under the rule of the Kaisers of Gorin, we set out to thrive anew.

However, over time, Gorin grew intolerant of our dominating presence, and later Kaisers turned against us, crushing us as a 'rebellion', pillaging what we had worked so long to build. Saddened and infuriated by the destruction, when an opportunity to secure our new home once and for all arrived, we jumped at it. Gorin fell, but we found ourselves suddenly surrounded by great powers and war. The proven-expansionist nation of Dengarai was eying our lands, and we sought protection, from our most powerful neighbour, Anabetan Khemri. We feared to join you, the Valins, for we feared brutal retribution from Anabet should we have allied with you, and... we feared you yourselves. Though we are tied by faith, there is much bad blood between our two races.

Our trust in the strength of Anabet proved to be not enough. Dengarai and Kalmar crushed our united army, and now, powerless and alone, the Dengarian masses consumed our nation.

That is, members of the council, the story of my nation. May the One bless and forgive.

The Achostai fully supports the actions of her ally, the Dengarai. The 'nation' of Emor has fallen centuries ago, and their claims to such will not be recognized upon our part. In addition, the Emorans stood with our enemies and now must suffer our retribution. They might have suffered under fright, but as our men stood and died, theirs hid. We will not recognized them and it is an Achostai demand that any state created within the ancient lands of Emor have the full support of the Dengarai.

We have no further demand.

Do the Emorans know why there is bad blood between them and us? Because once, they were loyal to Oneist ideals. Those ideals don't include groveling in front of every heathen enemy with the power to destroy them. Emor bowed to the Bladeists, and they bowed to Anabet. And what has it gotten them?

Emrus the Tall would be ashamed of his people. The Emorans are lucky to have the Dengarai, fellow Oneists, as overlords. We support giving control of Emor to Dengarai, with their political status to be determined by them.

And now...what is to be done about Khemri?

It should be reduced to its core lands and greatly decentralised putting power in the hands of local lords, like it was on the eve of the Khemran civil war.

Agreed. First, the division: We want to know what territory Kehexou wishes to claim.

Also, the northern coastal land on the Kaosian can be given to the Crystalists perhaps.

It will probably be something like this. the ancestral homelands of Tehkexous (sp) and the strip of coastland just across from thier holysite.
All areas subject to change, especially the north which is firmly in Croyodon's influence.

the Khemran border should definatly be the crystal ridge mountains, but that leaves the question of who should control the Western coast? or should it remain in the hands of Khemri.

Paleaveritas will give up Tekrehexou to Kehexou. Myocaca's northern border should probably be the northern edge of the desert, a natural frontier.

As for Khemri, there should be no King or other supreme ruler. Each individual city should be led by an autonomous lord, and Khemri should be forbidden from making war on any Valin or Kehex nation forever.

We also want limits on Khemri's army, and no navy in the Kehexou Sea. But they can keep their western port. And we will allow any generals, supporters, and soldiers of Anabet to renounce their allegiance peacefully or go into exile on Khemri's Destre colony.

The Bajo-Oni Gazi Godruski and then entire Gorin people utterly refuse this proposal. We demand that the Crystal Ridge Mountains be aloted to us. The Khemri cannot be trusted again with it. Instead use the river as a border. Not only that but all lands which are currently unclaimed belong rightfully to Gorin and her people. To do other wise would be a sham and mockery of this Council. All those lands are not only ethnically Gorin but historically nothing BUT Gorin lands.

If Khemri keeps their core river valley, we can support Gorin getting the mountains directly between them and Khemri, and the unclaimed land southwest of their capital.

placing limits on the army and navy are hard things to enforce, myocaca being an example.
But Zamdar supports Paleaveritas's proposals, perhaps Myocaca and Paleaveritas should sign a defence pact with Kehexou? the immediate defence of Kehexou would fall to you both because of the distances involved for Achostai and us (and anyone else I missed).

It was merely a suggestion, you can edit the map to show what you want thats what the council is about. But we don't want to create too much resentment in the defeated party
