Has anyone tried using War-time mobilization during a Golden Age? Do the bonuses double up, or is one of them wasted?

mmmmh.......ive never used war time mobilization.........is it worth it for long wars?

I think I tested it before. It does gives additional bonus shields. Not sure if my memory serve me right. i.e. a grassland shield gives 4 shields in that case.

Really? I don't remember it that way, but... I have an old savegame of that lying around; will have to check it tomorrow.

I do War-time Mobilizations all the time when I am at war at a civ

You do not get additional bonus shields from going into mobilization if you are already in a Golden Age - that would just be too big of an advantage.
That is not correct.
You get the bonus shield.
I have just done that in my game and got the bonus shield
Mined hill = 5 shields with no railroad

I got first in the golden age and then mobilized.
I was playing with the Babylonians, attacked the Aztecs
Bowman VS Jaguar Warrior
GA
and then mobilization, ( Monarch level)

?!?!?!?!?!

According to the help, you can't mobilize until you've discovered nationalism. With nationalism, what the hell are you doing using bowmen?????

I'm very confused!!!

You are thinking about drafting, which can´t be done before Nationalism. War mobilization may be done from the start of the game.

It seems there is some disagreement over the shield bonus. Anyone have a screenie?

No Disagreement. If you read carefully. All parties now agree you can get both bonuses.

Hurricane> Mobilization is available only after Nationalism.

Wow. This could create a "super-GA" for those of us who prefer warmongering with Industrial-age GAs.

All I know is that in my last game I was mobilized for war during my golden age and within 5 turns I had a HUGE army
cities were cranking out units every one or two turns
