Big explanation of what these units are from is here.
This is not everything but I will add when I make/get new ones. I will not be making ships for this pack because I don't see a big enough difference between real world and what was in the books. Before anyone asks, the WW1 aircraft are made to a completely difference scale from the WW2 and modern aircraft, that is why they are much larger.

Very cool planes. :goodjob:

The next infantry unit I'm working on is, if I'm not mistaken, a world war I confederate infantryman. It's the "JohnnyReb" package which you sent me.

looks just fine

While you probably meant a specifically Turtledove scenario:

I'm pretty sure since he didn't respond to the exact same post in his old thread, that he's not planning on doing your request.

Hi Blue Monkey, I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean a bronze gas mask with the rest of the figure the same? If you need a unit for the Steampunk scenario and it's simply a matter of coloring the gas mask bronze then I can probably squeeze that in after I do the regular unit for Wyrmshadow. I can just give it to Wyrmshadow to release with the regular unit when I send it to him.

I apologize I didn't answer you the last time you posted.

Well, I was really answering Ozymandias' question. It wasn't a formal request; no apologies necessary. Just an "if you ever get around to it ..."

On the gripping hand, a recoloration with of the Confederate Trooper with uniform, helmet, & gas mask all "bronzed" would look just right at civ scale, I think.

You mean color the whole figure bronze?

What kind of unit are you looking for? A robot?

EDIT: Here's a preview of the animated figure.

The tech is armored infantry. Literally. Steampunk "starship troopers".

Confederate Trooper By Gary Childress
This guy bronzed would look like the kind of infantry that could handle gas attacks & tesla cannons. I think Victorian armor could (jingoistically) closely emulate the look of a standard uniform. So all that would be needed is a recoloring of your model - same weapon & animations. If it's easier, a brass helmet, mask & breastplate would do.

@BlueMonkey... could you NOT threadjack?

@Gary: His rifle position looks funky. Is there a way of bringing his elbow closer to his chest? No soldier holds a rifle like that with his elbow parralel to the ground.

I've fired a few rifles and I seem to recall often holding my elbow out so that my trigger arm was parallel to the ground. Not everyone shoots a rifle the same way I don't think. Some people tuck their arm and some hold it out.

Here's a few pics of close to what I have. Are you sure you want it changed?

hunting and sport shooting applications the arm is cocked more up like that. I recall during my training trying to keep my arms tucked in as much as possible to create a smaller target. Like you said, everyone has their own shooting style. To me it just seems unnatural to have my arms cocked up that far. I've always kept my elbows tucked into my sides whenever I shot a rifle, but then again, those old rifles were heavier, more powerful, and had quite a kick compared to the M-16s and M-4s that I have shot. I suppose that you would have to cock your arms up that high in order to aim and fire that weapon properly. It just seems a small bit too exagerated to me.

Outstanding foot units Gary!! Really one of the best I have seen! Size is excellent, not to skinny and it walks like a real human!!

If ur done with the Harry Turtledove Units will u make them also without a gasmask?

Storytime.. so I'll just hide it.

Spoiler :
Sports shooting and combat shooting are 2 very very different things. I have zero experience on the latter so I won't be talking about that. I did competetive shooting in college, my coach used to be the USARMY shooting team coach at Fort Hood. He was a funny old redneck... he ONLY had 23,000 rounds of .22 at his house. Taught me how to shoot pistols, M-16's and competition rifles. He also introduced me to my gf at the time...The way he taught me how to shoot standing was different from any of those pictures.. left hand supported the barrel with my left elbow sitting on my left hip... right elbow close to my chest and keeping the rifle butt close too and my feet in a fencing stance. Different from those pictures.

Then again the unit is seen from the top.. not level like those example pictures so it's near impossible to get the same perspective so you can compare how far out the elbow is. If you look at the standard civ infantry... its a bad example. He's not even bringing the rifle up to his shoulder... who the hell animated these things?

Sorry that you have to remake those tings.

@Red Door... Poser takes even more time to run than some of my units. Plus he's doing these as a favor to me because I gave him a LOT, and I mean a LOT of models for his other projects. Next time you request something of someone, maybe you can think of what you can do for them to motivate them to help you. Think of it as a market economy, you get what you pay for, and it you don't pay for it, you get nothing. Atleast that's how I see it.

What weapon is the Confederate trooper holding? It looks kinda like a M-14.
