Colonization in Third Place for US Sales

GamesIndustry.biz has reported the sales rankings for PC games sold in the United States for the week from September 21st to the 27th. Civilization IV: Colonization came in third, preceded only by Spore and Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Considering Spore's more widespread advertising and the fact that Colonization didn't come out until September 23rd, third place is not too bad! Here were the full rankings:

1. Spore
2. Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
3. Civilization IV: Colonization
4. Crysis Warhead
5. The Sims 2 Apartment Life
6. World Of Warcraft: Battle Chest
7. World Of Warcraft
8. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe
9. LEGO Batman
10. World Of Warcraft: Burning Crusade

i'm a bit annoyed that lego Batman is beating WoW: Burnign Crusade. :mad:

Actually, if you think about it, whether CivCol placed 3rd or 103rd says absolutely nothing about how it did in relation to Spore, either way it was outsold by it by some indeterminate amount (as you say, not surprising), it could have been outsold by 10% or 10,000%. What it says, if anything, is how well it did compared to every other title EXCEPT Spore (and Warhammer)

Actually I'm glad that The Sims beated WoW.

Oh and that effing Lego beated Burning Crusade..

spore & colo2 in the top ten is bad for gaming.
They are both broken games that was not beta tested worth a damn and will not be anywhere near good games until some serious patching is done.
