This thread is to discuss this mod, available for download here.

The changes introduced by the mod include:

  • Terrorist Organizations
  • Black Ops
  • Internal Security
  • Indigenous People
  • Respect (as a dimension of like and dislike)
  • New Unit: Diplomat
  • New Technologies: Oratory, Propaganda
I am interested in new ideas expanding the concepts of terrorism, shadow diplomacy, internal security and everything else related to the "Clash of Civilizations" theme. I have a great deal of respect for new units, leaderheads, civics, etc., but I'd like to focus on gameplay changes rather than the other forms of expanded content.
 
Sounds great, but the mod won't load. Encounters an exception right at the start of the loading process.

Attached is a zipped up Python debug file... the upload was giving problems with it being text for some reason.. hence the zip format.

Seems the mod is looking for files in a Warlords directory, however I don't have Warlords installed, only vanilla and BTS.

BUG mod 3.5 gave me the same issue, and it worked fine when I used their previous version .ini file. Actually almost same exact error message.

I had the same problem the last guy had. Though, I went to custom game, selected Earth3, and as soon as the game started to load, it crashed.
 
I won't download and install this mod until the bug is worked out. But, I have been asking for a Sniper unit. Long build time for training, but long range and effectiveness.
 
Just to clarify, is this problem only being experienced by those who don't have Warlords installed? Obviously it works fine on my computer, but customized settings interfere with troubleshooting.
 
Is this a Warlords based mod?
 
if this is a warlords mod then that would explain the break. Most peeps here run BTS.
 
I run both (ran, actually: I've temporarily uninstalled Warlords to understand the problem). What I want to know is whether people who have both Warlords and BTS installed are having any problems. This will help me diagnose, since it's only been tested on my system.
 
i have both.

ill try it on warlords right now.

edit: Crashes in warlords as well, during initiating graphics.

initializing, init graphics, initializing (crash)...

also the title picture is all mest up.


Now i dont have separate instillations of warlords or anything dunno if that would effect things.
 
I think two problems are happening.. first my problem with the mod crashing as it loads up from desktop. (looking for warlords directory) and the second problem with people who can load the mod but when loading a game it crashes.

Did uninstalling warlords cause a problem for you ooggbboo?
 
I think you have a problem inside the mod itself if it crashes in Warlords AND BTS.
 
I have BTS and Warlords, but I run BTS. However, I think its the mod itself or maybe the version of the game you're running, maybe?
 
Yeah... what version of BtS is this for... default... 3.17... something else... what?
 
Did anyone get this to work yet?

It sounds exactly like what I have been looking for. Hope we get this fixed.
 
It turns out that I designed this in something of a vacuum, with 3.13 of BTS and with Warlords installed (so if that's your setup, you're golden). I plan to get it working under 3.17 sometime soon, although - and I hope I don't offend anyone when I say this - the recent terror attacks have given me some ideas with respect to a state-sponsored terror system that I'd like to implement.
 
Having or not having warlords is not an issue if this is made for BtS. Likewise if it is made for warlords (then it doesn't matter which version of BtS you have). So are you saying you made this for BtS 3.13?

The reason I ask is because this sounds really cool, and if its easy to combine I'd like to add it to the next edition of my mod.
 
It does sound cool, but I won't play it until someone can verify that it works! Who still builds mods on 3.13 anyway?
 
This mod sounds pretty sweet. If you could upgrade it to 3.17, that would be amazing. I would download this.
