There are several Civilizations that have leaders with the Industrious trait.
France, Incan , Rome , America, China , Germany, Russia, and Egypt.

Louis XiV (Hereditary Rule)- French Empire - Industrious, Creative
De Gaulle (Nationhood)- French Empire - Industrious, Charismatic
Huaya Capa (Hereditary Rule)- Incan Empire- Industrious, Financial
Augustus Ceasar (Representation)- Roman Empire- Industrious, Imperialistic
Roosevelt (Mercantilism)- American Empire- Industrious, Organized
Qin Shi Huang (Bureaucracy) - Chinese Empire-Industrious. Protective
Bismark-(Nationhood) - German Empire - Expansive , Industrious
Stalin-(State Property) Russian Empire- Aggressive, Industrious
Ramesses- (Organized Religion)-Egyptian Empire- Spiritual, Industrious

There are four wonders and two minor wonders to build/tech towards, in this style.
They are -
The Statue of Zeus - Enemies suffer +100% War Weariness, City More likely to generate a Great Artist - Double production speed with Ivory.
Collossus -All cities water tiles +:commerce: requires forge ,City more likely to generate a Great Merchant, Double production speed with Copper.
The Statue of Liberty -+1 Free Specialist in All cities on this continent, requires Forge,Double production speed with Copper
Christo Redentor
- No Anarchy, No wait between Civics or State Religion changes, Double production speed for spiritual leaders, City more likely to generate a Great Engineer

and the two minor wonders...

Moai Statues - Water tiles + :hammers: City more likely to generate a Great Prophet Double production speed with Stone
Mt. Rushmore.
- -25% War unhappiness in all cities, City more likely to generate a Great Artist, double production speed with Stone.

Combined, these statue wonders cover the game aspects of War, Commerce, Specialists, Culture and Religion. Note the importance of Copper and Stone for a coastal city.
Maintain one up-to-tech big land army and one big navy. Save at least one Great Engineer to help build the Statue of Liberty.

Take or adopt any religion that comes around. Chopping will help build higher hammer wonders and clear the way for workshops as your first tech race will be to Metal Casting and Aesthetics. (Collosus , Zeus). (Sailing is required for the Moai Statues)

Note that the Statue of Zeus requires at least two (one in the city) Monuments- Mysticism - before you can begin. Build this in a city near Ivory if available.
Also Philosophy (which may land you Taoism ) is needed to tech towards Democracy)
The Collosus requires a coastal city with a Forge. Your first or second city should be on the coast (near Copper). This city should build both the Collosus and the Statue of Liberty.
It is a big leap to Democracy (Statue of Liberty)- (which also requires a Forge and too benefits from a city near Copper )
Radio (Christo Redentor) is the next tech path. (Scientific Method-Physics -Electricity), then Facism, (Mt Rushmore). (standard, fractal).

While seemingly geared for war you also fend off unwelcome invasions by your stance which may or may not be tilted towards attack, in the meantime your tech path with all the Statue Wonders completed ensures tech parity, and a multitude of winning options, with the space parts primed for a speedy build due to the productive power of this empire.

This quadratic strategy utilizes the optimal civilization/wonder (+amount) binary code interaction while providing for strong troops, industerial power, and good tech rate.
Culture and Gold can both be balanced by razing any enemy city near your border. If they build it again raze it again, alleviating cultural pressure and providing cash and tech from the ruins as well as amplifying the statue wonder graphics in your cities compared to the rubble.

The great wall makes a great complement to these statues. Indeed, many statues are surrounded by a wall of some kind. A great one is truly a boon to a statue war.

I won on Monarch standard, fractal, with Roosevelt, and Bismark- but it seems that Louis would be the strongest.
Forgoing all other wonders as a self-limitation (Until Radio which is a boon for wonders tech) the statue (figurative) combination gives a slew of specialists (not many Great Spies- more Great Artists, Great Engineers, Great Scientists, Great Prophets, and Great Merchants.
The Tech path also has techs that the AI will bargain for- Aesthetics and Metal Casting early, Then Nationhood, Electricity, Democracy, ect later.

"The great wall makes a great complement to these statues"

Yes, depending on the Civilization any other early wonder can really add to the mix.
Shadowayne Paya (if your near Gold) and Parthenon (if your near Marble) are also available with Aesthetics.
However by not building the Oracle, Pyramids, Great Wall or others- it forces one to keep a large military and calms the wonder building lust.
Broadway -Electricity and then Eiiffel Tower, Rock n Roll- with Radio
after you have completed the statue building wonders- are also available.

if the Statue of the Christ Redeemer gives double production speed to spiritual leaders wouldn't this really benefit Ramssess more than anybody else?

Ok, yeah but the Christ Redentor (note the spelling) stops all anarchy for the rest of the game and spiritual stops all anarchy for the whole game? So why would you want the Christ Redentor?

Unless I'm mistaken, Christo Redentor instead gives Spiritual civs the advantage of being able to change civics as many times as they like in the one turn. Non-spiritual civs still have to wait the normal length of time before changing civics, but with no anarchy.

EDIT... Hmm I think this is a mistake actually. Spiritual and non-spiritual civs get the same bonus - no wait between civic changes and no anarchy - but spi leaders can just build it faster because it is less of a benefit to them overall.

Dat true (using the first post as a reference), but would choosing Ramesses for the spiritual trait be worth for double production of the Christ Redentor and therefore no wait between changes in civics/religions?

:goodjob: Paragraphs like this one are why I read the Attacko threads. Like the statues which it endorses, it has a certain undefinable beauty which brings onlookers from all over the world and fills them with awe and wonder.

You can no longer switch civics more than once per turn with the Cristo Redentor.

shouldn't this be listed as a "strategy article"?

it was posted as a strategy article but was moved.
The Cristo Redentor allows a civics switch around at will with no wait.

You know, I think I might actually follow this strategy in a game. Statues FTW!

Attacko's strategies should never be taken seriously.....

This is an example of how the Collosus built by a Civ running Mercantilism can be better than the Great Light House much like Chitzen Iza and the Hanging Gardens can be superior to the Pyramids for certain Civilizations and teching patterns.

Mathematical calculations are used by some, but i suggest Venn Diagrams are better suited to explain the dynamics of Civ4, which point to certain wonders being the superior for certain civs.

The thing is, when is +1 pop and +25% pre gunpowder defense better than an early game tech lead?

I've never been attacked by an enemy civ where +25% defense would've made the difference between life and death pre-gunpowder. Or ever, for that matter.

Usually it's better to grow the cities to another pop than get the +1 from Hanging Gardens. Sometimes I have cities in stagnation, and am running Caste System, so that causes starvation, and unhappiness, and... well, I hope you get the picture.

Ecit:

Venn diagrams? WTH?

I'm actually a tad disappointed...While obviously less than optimal, this strategy could actually be used in a winning game. Most of Attacko's "strategies" virtually guarantee that you will not win...although they make the losing so enjoyable. :)
