Future Versions: New City Culture Levels

As I told in the 2.5beta thread, I saw in other mod thread (don't remember which) that's possible to add more city culture levels than the 6 existing ones (poor - fledgling - developing - refined - influential - legendary). Zappara confirmed it and asked for names for the levels.

I also thought in new borderline design for each of them. I already had designed it in an Excel file, in a have-not-to-do moment. Now, I'm working to hell and don't have time to develop more the idea.

I'm posting that Excel file in order to people who are interested in see this Add-on in RoM to think, criticize and modify the names and borders designs. This being discussed and done, we can deliver it to Zap.

Another thing is the thresholds to level upgrades. I did write them in the speed I play (Epic) but didn't think too deep in it, so feel free to change it too.

My goal is to improve the feeling of uniqueness of cities across the globe, besides delaying the Cultural Victory.

Why do you think cultural victory with RoM is too easy? I actually think it's harder than plain BtS.

16 ppl have looked at the file, zap is probably one of them. But he did say he's concentrating on getting 2.5 finished before Christmas. This is a whole new set of ideas to be mulled over.

I wouldn't say too easy... it's just anticipated. With the much more longer tech tree, the Space Victory was throwed to later turns, isn't it? The basis of my thinking is put all the victories in the Future Era. Zap seems to agree with me, since he modded the number of required Legendary Cities from 3 to 5.

I did also suggest that the Diplomatic Victory could be turned on later in the game, maybe with the tech that provides "Mind Control Centers". But this is another discussion.

Other side of my suggestion is a greater diversity of borders sizes, what is poorly designed in my XLS file. I need the collaboration of all to improve this in order to deliver this to Zap as a job done.

I haven't looked yet your file but I intend to do it as soon as the v2.5 is finished - I've already started working on v2.6 patch because I wanted to keep v2.5 beta version saved games compatible with each other so any new stuff goes to next patch...

I didn't expect that you apply my idea right now, since it's pretty rudimentary yet. My request was for the forum guys, to develop the concept in the Wiki style and give you some rest (at least at this topic :rolleyes: )...
