since vampires in FFH are not undead and are a product of the body sphere, why do they get access to summoning undead?

FFH vampires to me seem like the ultimate capitalists..... they rise to the top on the backs of those they see as weaker.
If humans are easy to control (and when they get unruly.... well, you know

Then mindless skellies and spectres are perfect to send off to do the dirty work of combat, leaving the vamps to come in and feast afterwards.
That's how I see it anyway..... for what that's worth LOL

Even tho Vampirism is a perfect representation of the body sphere (the new twisted version which represents Rage, Hate, Anger, and ofc. Strength) I think Alexis used a form of necromancy to actually perform the first ritual in which she became the first vampire. Their adoptive mother is Os-Gabella after all, head of the Sheaim, the masters of necromancy.

Thematically the Sheaim are not masters of Necromancy, they are masters of Dimensional magic. That involves mostly summoning Demons and Elementals, not animating corpses. They would certainly have skilled necromancers among them as they are basically the only society that encourages the unregulated practice of such dark arts, but it is not their specialty. They only have Death mana to hold the pot fr Dimensional until it is (possibly) reintroduced, bostly because it has the most summons.

I agree with loocas on this one, vampires only feast on the blood, not the bodies, so really, what else would you do with a bloodless body?

They feast on souls actually. Blood drinking is the mechanism by which a moroi becomes a vampire, but once you are a vampire you feast on souls, not blood.
That still leaves plenty of intact corpses to raise skeletons from though.

I'd guess that the ritual technically doesn't require drinking blood, but that the curse from Lugus that one bring on oneself when he/she performs the ritual causes an powerful craving for the actual blood, just like it causes sensitivity to sunlight.

I always figured that those who knew about vampires, but don't know the ritual, would feast on the corpses of the vampire's victims in the vain hopes that that would do it.
