This website is dynamic and lively enough to have spawned several of it's own inside jokes and memes, which I think speaks volumes for the creativity and sense of humor among the community of posters here. Although I haven't been here all that long, I've picked up on many but am still in the dark as to the origin of some (though they may be funny regardless).

Here're the one's I can think of (forgive me if I forget your favorite).

CFC Memes I get:

Fifty and Perfection.
Someone stoled my video camera and my pants.
That's rasist.
Go piss in your garden.
We get it Pannonius, you hate Muslims.
Giant Death Robots.
Giant Frisbee Monster.
KAAAAAAAAANNNNN!!!

CFC Memes I don't get (but still find funny):

Fifty and Perfection.
Radioactive monkeys.
downtown.
I consider myself an intellectual.

Among what I'm certain are many others I'm forgetting. So what are your favorites? Were you personally involved with any of them? Can you possibly explain any of them? Is a thread like this even allowed? If not, I'm sorry I bothered.

Fifty and Perfection isn't a meme, it's two people trying to tart an internet based cult because they have too much free time, and want to feel loved.

I was never involved in any meme, ever.

Several of those 'memes' are just posters...

A meme can only be one if spontaneous, such as Red Stranger.

If it is organised, it's not a meme, it's pathetic.

Well yes, but their personalities are such that they've been woven into the culture (for lack of a better word) here.

Not really. Creating a cult of personality is not a meme. If a person becomes a cult figure, but is oblivious to it, then it is a meme

What about Panny and Kan?

PAnnonius isn't a meme, he jsut hates muslims.

Kan has achieved somewhat of a following, and without a campaign, so reasonably so, yes, except I wouldn't call it as much a meme, as a group of Other Games posters who have found their true calling ;)

Pann is something of a meme, or at least his hatred of Muslims is. As I've noted before, his threads are allot like bullfighting. The purpose isn't to argue against his points, it's to look good in front of others with witty putdowns.

Bigdog's list is pretty complete, at least as far as the Offtopic forums go. of course, there are other poster centered memes that most of you weren't around for. Like Xan's legendary spelling skill, or lack there of.

Looks like he's not the only one lacking spelling skills... :mischief:

How could you have forgotten this already?

Well it isn't Pann himself that's memorable, it's his presence.
:(

Aaargh, don't say 'meme'. It's a really stupid word.

Anyway: 'wrestling action figures' used to be one, but it's gone away now. But these are mostly OT 'memes' (ugh). In NES, for example, they have an entirely different set, and in, say, Civ IV, talking about video cameras and pants would not get you very far.

'Equatism'?

That's on the cusp of working its way into my real-life vocabulary. It keeps turning up in my thoughts.
