First, yes, this is a spoiler.
If you wanna act surprised, you can, but in less than 7 days, Israel attacks Gaza. (and some1 better attack Iran sometime, but that's another matter..)
If you hear the news here, you can be damn sure it will happen, and the Hamas people are already in each other's butt hiding and preparing.
Why, you may ask, if you have no idea what's going on here.
I'll try and explain.
Well, a soldier named Gilad Shalit has been kidnapped on the Gaza border in an organized Hamas operation 3 years ago.
Since then, the Hamas has beaten Fatah and taken control in Gaza.
Note that Hamas is muxh more extreme than Fatah.
Also note that Israel doesn't hold ANYTHING in Gaza, not a settler, nor a soldier.
Since then, Israel proper gets daily rockets to a few near cities (yes, you hear right, Israel is geing rocketed daily for years).
There has been a "cease fire" for the last 6 months, during which rockets were STILL fired at Israel daily, but less (something like 5 each other day instead of 30-50 a day).
A condition to this "cease fire" was serious negtiations about Gilad Shalit's return to Israel.
This has been "done" with rediculus demands from hamas with 1:thousands ratio, where they want us to also release known murderers and terrorists.
So, we are still getting more and more rockets to our cities and the soldier hasn't returned.
Many in Israel think we never should have done the cease fire, and that the government is weak, and should have acted ages ago.
About a week ago, the half-year cease fire ended formaally, and no side is really intending on reembrace it, since ..
We don't have our quiet and our soldier, and they probably get money from Iran to keep holding him.. in any case they won't release him without an unreasonable reward, and won't stop shooting rockets because it's the only means of pressure they have now that it is harder for them to get suicide bombers in Israel.
So, we go in.
What would your country do if it is constantly shot at..
Also, I wanna note something about the humanitarian crysis there.
It exists, but it is not our responsibility to help the people of Gaza - Gaza has 2 borders - with Israel and Egypt.
On Israel they shoot. Enemy. Understand?
We get trucks with food on a passage, and once in a while we get a few people blown for that. Why should we help? They are hungry? Their friends, the Egyptians, would surely agree to help, no?
The EU is so concerned about these horrible people left without gas for their rockets... ehhh.. cooking? Send it through Egypt. We agree. Goodbye.
Easiest way is NOT sending food and gas and say it's Israel's fault..
BTW, the man who is knocking on tables to make this Israeli attack not come to be is the Egyptian leader, Mubarak.
He is afraid all those people will wanna enter Egypt.
Hey man! They WERE Egyptians till 67!
Then in 77 there was peace and Saadat said he wants every peice of ground taken by the war to the last inch!.... except the Gaza strip.. He refused time and time again to take it back.
I will say one racist remark.
Most people in Gaza have the morality of a man who likes to eat his mom, if she's available. If she's not available, he'll kill his dad first. As long as he's fully satisfied. jerks.
It's a wonderful example of how a few stupid families multiply to fill a city with idiots and fanatic maniacs.
When we took them, they weren't even a city.
One last thing : it's the only city in the world I wouldn't feel the humanitarian loss if it will ever be
