Problems with alpha channel

Alpha channel in model is always tricky - i always fight to display it properly, but usually i'm succesfull combining different mesh or materials or both

This time i cant fix it - the oil presented as seperate texture for civ is getting completly invisible in places where my oil derrick is (the planks are made with apha channel) - check the image

any suggestion how to fix it?

i think i could make oil part of the model - what you think about such a solution?
 
strange, made a quick try (create a very easy shaped tower with alpha channel) and the oil was diplayed correct, so sometimes it seems to work (and i can´t compare the settings - in nifscope it´s flag value 4845). But before wasting to much time fixing it, i think your idea could also work
 
OK thank you for suggestions and help. I'll try experiment a little bit more with material and if tis won't help I'll merge it with oil.
 
Try Nifskope alphachannel settings (flags).
you should set the testmode to "greater or equal" and threshhold to 128 or something like that ;)
