Hi all,

By browsing on this site, I discovered a mod that can be found in the "downloads" section but not in the "Creation & Customization/Files" forum. I played the beginning of a game with this mod and I already think it adds much more to playability than other mods I tried (Land of our Fathers and AoD for instance) :
- selling guns to the indians is not as profitable as it was
- exploring the map with a seasonned scout no longer yield that many treasures. (for me, one single seasonned scout would yield much more than an army of fur trappers)

because of these 2 slight changes, taking care of your economy is much more important.

Second, the mod changed the Founding Fathers list. Now all of them can be useful for a specific strategy (while in the original game, some FF are completely broken). Moreover, their cost in political points was changed, so that now it's possible to beeline a specific FF and ignore the others.

looks interesting, a lot of the changes made produce a similar effect to ones made in to Patchmod/LooF/AOD, just gone about in a different way (cannons losing attack bonus, adding value to churches and crosses), though the no healing change is a bit too drastic for me :p...

I'm def gonna have a look tho, to see if I can pinch some of the new FF graphics/traits :p
 
Well I haven't tried the no heal feature yet.

What I found considerably game-breaking in the old version was that it was way too easy to make money with exploration and indian trade. These 2 aspects would make the other alternatives like producing trade goods, generating crosses, and establish missions way too weak.

Nice that you enjoy the mod. It is mostly made for egoistic purposes so thats why i restrain myself from overpromting it and it is not a big deal if gets used. Better or worse doesn't matter to me, but the different and enjoyable comments i am thankful for. And to not take undue rewards the FF list has bin remade a few times with influences of the Loof Mod.

I will take this time to make some advertisment for the future mod steps project i am working on/ intend to add.
As i see it you can add and change and further add features to overcome imbalanses but sooner or later the critical issues of the game most be handled - the interactions with the mothernation/ the fellow europeans and indian nations. Hopefully the game will then not feel as much a "sandbox then straight to a simple revolutionary war"-game as it is today. So that is big task i am working on now.

Roadmap.

1.3: From Isabella To James
I will try to add a new goods, artifacts. If it proves to hard i will merge it with silver and call it Treasures instead. A tag will be added so that Silver/Artifacts/Treasures cannot be bought in Europe.
Indians will get buildings that produce Artifacts/Treasures.
The king will start very freindly to you but your diplomacy will detoriate through time. You can keep him happy longer by givving him Silver/Artifacts/Treasures in the Europe Screen.
Portugal will be added to get 5 nations.
The king will have 2 other european nations as archenemies, the others he will be more freindly to.
The king will have relations to other Europens and an army status to represent changing size and availabilaty of his army. This status will affect the REF and your relation to fellow europeans.
There will be more diplomacy with the King, and the options you get will rely a lot with his status and your relation to him.

1.4 Young Braves
A new attack, the raid, will be introdued where casualties are low and the attacker if winning reaks havoc in the defenders settlement.
Every turn there is a chance that a native unit will do a renagade move where he ignores the nations diplomacy often resulting in a raid. The size of the chance is dependeing on your relations.
A piracy attack will be added on sea as well, also will low damge (no sinking) and capturing of goods/hostages.

Markets of Europe
In europe there be an interior supply & demand of each goods.
When any european sell by goods in Europe you add to theese supplies & damands spread out over a few turns.
In europe there will be an industri making 2 tier goods out of 1st tier goods.
The industri will improve or expand each turn in the industry type that generates most pofits.
The supply & demand will increase over time.
Of course, the price of goods will depend on the current supply & demand.
A new screen will explain how this works.
