GIII-Kilo

We haven't had a 100K game for a while so let's put that right. The settings are:

* Mapsize: Large
* Difficulty: Monarch
* Condition: 100K

Question is do you play Vanilla/PtW for the lower cultural points limit or conquests for the ToA?

Good luck to all participants. Games due in by 15th February 2009

It JUST struck me that you can do that, which doesn't really seem fair (I prefer to play C3C). I'm not inclined to believe ToA can make up the difference.

I'd like to hear what others think.

ToA is a difference, plus agri, plus SGL's for Pyramids, more effective specialists.

On the other hand, PTW has MGL's for Pyramids, and lower needed culture.

Have fun with this one, I couldn't care less for 100k games.

You can also whip in C3C but not in PTW, right?

You can if you get to Communism. For huge I think PTW has the edge but on large I'm saying Conquests has more goodies to make up for the 30k extra.

ooh - forgot about the feudalism whip help, too.

Well, maybe the right thing is to be babylon in PTW, research to education and switch from despotism to republic several times.

I think the trick in C3/PTW would be to use a Remote Palace - a monstrous remote palace. City spacing probably true CxxC, or a little closer, but not much so cities can grow to size 6+ and get WLTKD. It'll reduce waste by 50%.

Anyway, I think that way C3/PTW should have the edge and a date of 1000ADish might be feasible with a very good game.

Based on the results of the previous 100K gauntlet, I would expect this one to have victories in the AD 800s.

I think I'm going to give PTW a go, for old times sake.

This gauntlet is now closed.

The winner and new champion: 100k!

For the least popular win condition.
