Using cheats for version 1.29

Hi

I am sorry to bother everyone, but I just got Civilization III ver 1.29 and am having a hard time earning money. I had the original game and was able to use it well.
What I want to know is, are there any cheats for version 1.29 that will work!
I would like to learn to play the game and not have to worry about money until I am better at it.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know about any cheats for CIv3, that work, at least.

Probably the best way to avoid money worries as you learn is to play on Chieftain. There is no penalty there for running a deficit, like there is on other levels.

OTOH: one of the best ways to increase your income is to put roads on *all* the tiles you work. (Eventually, on virtually all the tiles in your empire.) Roads increase the gpt income for a worked tile by one, so if a city of 9 is working roaded tiles, they get an additional 9 gpt.
