DESCRIPTION:
This map is one of my first maps, but now I decided to open a thread on it.
Because I'm a fan of Japan and its culture, I created a map of Japan (in Japanese: Nihon) and Korea. It also contains little parts of People's Republic of China and Russia.
Here, a topographical map and a satellite image of the region that acted as a template for my map:
Notes:
* On the North of the map, there's some jungle. This should be swamp, but unfortunately there's no swamp in BTS.
* Height, rivers, coast are as realistic as possible. To make the map more interesting, I decided to add some plains and tundra, although Japan consists mostly of grass.
* Some resources are realistic (rice, other agricultural resources), others not (iron, copper, ...), I spreaded them randomly on the map so that the map stays playable. Japan isn't "blessed" with resources.
* New: Anytime I played this map I started on the mainland. So I set 15 starting locations. You can still choose any civilization you want.

HOW TO INSTALL:
All my maps are for Vanilla, but you can easily play them with WL or BTS. Extract them and put them into the folder:
* for Vanilla: Civ4/PublicMaps
* for Warlords: Civ4/Warlords/PublicMaps
* for Beyond the Sword: Civ4/Beyond the Sword/PublicMaps.
Or, if you want a WL- oder BTS-map, you can change the file extension:
* for Vanilla: Civ4WorldBuilderSave
* for Warlords: CivWarlordsWBSave
* for Beyond the Sword: CivBeyondSwordWBSave
