RR3- Spain on a lake.....

All the players of sucession games in Civ IV already saw a thread that hops from time to time to the top of the first page ( or, like LKendter said: "the thread that never ends" ) the RB1 - Cuban Isolationists , played by Sirian and Sullla, that most likely is the father of all the wacky variants in the Civ IV SG area ( in spite of being a rehash of RBD7 SG - Cuban Isolationists , played by Charis and Sirian ( I strongly suggest ppl to read that, in spite of being a Civ III SG with almost 7 years..... Charis was a very..... charismatic player and a proficuous user of the smiley ) )

As Warlords and BtS brought some changes in the game units and mechanics, I thinked that it would be interesting to give the variant a go. And after talking with Sullla ( Sirian is unactive in CFC for quite a while ), I decided to start......


Ruleset ( completely copied from RB1 ...... )

* NO OPEN BORDERS
* No map trades
* Our ships may not leave culturally controlled waters.

Clarification of more problematic issues ( vassals territory, for a example ) will follow democratic vote with myself being a tie breaker if needed. Madrid being the holy city of 3 religions is optional, but welcome

P.S I also recall Charis... I started lurking CFC in 2002 Too bad that he isn't here: it was probably one of the most talented creators of crazy variants in here.

Sadly, civ 3 was well before I started playing civ... Tough I read the whole cuban isolationists by sullla and sirian (of course, well, who hasn't?), one of the biggest sources of motivation to start playing civ at all

I doubt we manage a three-headed hydra this time tough I feel we should try at least for one of the early religions... And start with a warrior for a change.

With spain on a lake, I think a religion is guaranteed.

I am fine with either emperor or monarch, doesn't really matter. Hemisphere map will be a tad difficult to stick to the variant and win by though ....

Do we chase Budd or Hind, i always seem to go for Hind.

If the rest of the team want to step up to Emporer, i'll drop out and let either RRR or the Legendary builder have my spot. i'm not really comfortable above Monarch.

I'm indiferent to going Emperor or Monarch ( the variant is hard enough by it self ).... but as I already had chosen monarch for generating the save, staying in monarch would save me the work of changing all the stuff to Emperor

We are already at emperor plus with closing borders, so I vote stay at monarch.

One of the reasons AW is so difficult for economy is NO trade routes...
