What was the most historical accurate thing in history or location for earth maps, happen to you? One of my moments was when I played as Turkey, or some other nation, I don't remember. But George Patton was born in America! It was surprising yet weird. That Eiffel guy was also born in France another game. Ahh... Accurate things...

Besides the everyday ones like, me overruning the Byzantines as the Ottomans and defeating them by taking the capital, I don't have many of those. I'll edit this space or post again if I do anytime soon.

In my games, the world is usually a mess of defensive pacts and vassals by the 20th century, so world wars are inevitable. I was playing as Russia one time, and Germany declared war on me around 1915; the relations screen was something to behold.

You inevitably get plenty of things like that happening. I've played as Rome and generated Gaius Marius as my first Great General, for example. I've also had either Carthage and/or Celtia next door and conquered them both. A couple of times I've played as Elizabeth and wound up living in "splendid isolation" on a largish island.

Usually have a World War around 1910-1920 and then another World War around 1930-1950.

I've played as Americans and had fought Russia's vassal the Koreans in 1953, was weird, but I crushed their Bok Choi asses and Stalin's score dropped so much from losing his vassal he sued for peace.

I relived Native American history. Had positioned on island left in the world map, with ghandi and his buddhism. Once killing him, I took entire island and growed slowly until 1400=era. Then Charlemagne appears with his ships on my land having his musketmen come to beach. I died in somewhere about 1800 after Charlemagne stole most of my cities.

As the USA, I fought Germany in 1940 with my allies England, France, Russia -- and Ethiopia. We weren't really allies and France declared a separate peace but, oh never mind, ...

In the late game, Germany kicked my buttocks with rifleman and infantry while I dawdled in tech trying to win by culture.

I was playing as the germans. my neighbors were the french english dutch russians and romans (italy). I declare war on dutch thinking they dont have any defensive pacts..... wrong english french and russians are attacking me now. I thought i would bribe Rome into the war. Waste of money, they ended up getting their butts kicked. For history's sake i sent a couple of troops to make sure they didnt lose all their cities.

wouldve been cool if America came out of nowhere and kicked my butt :D

Won a cultural victory with Mao. Oh wait, that's the opposite of real life.

I had the french cower against my mighty military might which was pretty realistic. Only thing was there were no British or Americans in the game for them :( :( :(

babylon building the hanging gardens, egypt building the pyramids and the US being a colony started by AI. this was a game from my noble days but I remember it well because of the accuracy.

Germany never declared war on anybody in that game though :)

...which you had access to anyway and which they simply raised the price on you...

It would be more realistic if you joined in an alliance with France, ejected an invader from their lands, and afterwards, in appreciation, they ended the alliance and closed their borders to your troops. Especially if the French leader was De Gaulle. (If his agents then went around stirring up separatist elements within your own country, that'd be downright spooky.)

I was America (as FDR) fighting the Japanese in the early 1940's once.

I totally didn't notice until after I had completed that game, either.

I nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki to finally get peace with Toku. Although, it doesn't really count sice I did that on purpose.

I died after 80 years :(

Was playing as Rome and my first GG was Scipio Africanus in my war against Carthage, which was also around 200BC.

I just had a game where a war of two continents (basically a world war) erupted in the year 1939. The next turn my supposed ally declared war on me. You can find the save game in the thread "Can an enemy AI bribe my AI friend to declare war on me?" ^____^
