Greetings!

I will be in Germany/Austria from May 9 to ~July 15. I am flying into Munich, but will stay in Salzburg from May 13-June 20 for the summer semester. Then I will travel through Germany (probably) hitting these cities: Nuremberg, Würzburg, Heidelberg, Frankfurt-am-Main, Cologne, Bremen, Hamburg, and finally to Berlin.

As part of the summer semester, a lot of my weekends are taken. Here are the free weekends that I have:

May 23/24
June 6/7
June 13/14 (Final Exams are the following week)

As holy_king mentioned in a previous thread, Salzburg is centrally located and is an easy place to meet up. I would like to spend one weekend in Switzerland.

What we need to decide is...

The date of the meetup
The location (I am not familiar with Salzburg)
The time of day when we are going to meet

Who can attend? Who wants to run screaming in terror and get as far away from Salzburg as possible while I am there? It is also possible to meet up in a city I mentioned above after June 20 if you are not able to make it.

Be sure to recommend the best beers available.

Salzburg certainly is far from being centrally located. :D

How about Warsaw? :mischief:

Goodwyn, why are you avoiding cities in Eastern Germany? There are many beautiful cities in the East (Frankfurt am Main? :lol: ) and what's more, their historical centres are certainly in much better shape nowadays than that of Heidelberg for example.

I was trying to go in a path that wouldn't lead to backtracking. Though I would love to see Leipzig.

I chose Frankfurt because if I end up working in Germany, that'll probably be the place. :)

Would you like to recommend some cities in the east? I am white with blue eyes, and am of German descent, so I think I'll be fine.
 
I will be in Germany, the western part, in late June and possibly early July.

I'll be staying in Dusseldorf, but if I have the money I'd gladly spend a few more days around and take a train somewhere near if you are in the western part of Germany. I'm quite spontaneous/adventurous and like staying off my initial plans.

I have free accommodation in Frankfurt, BTW. So that would work fine for me (although I'd have to let the person know with some time in advance).

The weekends you seem to have to spare all work for me as of now, Godwynn.

Hm... Salzburg is more or less exactly on the opposite end of Germany for me :D . Don´t know if I could make it.

Regardless of when/where the meetup is, tell me when you´re visiting Bremen/Hamburg, it´s just 1-2 hours away from where I live :) !
 
So, how many people are interested in it as of now?

It's hard to make anyone give an answer without a little bit of a more exact schedule. :)

The June 13/14 week would probably be the worst for me since finals are directly after it, so unless that is the only weekend someone can come, I'm going to scratch it.
 
For me 20/21 and 27-28 are the least likely (with the latter being impossible, since I have my "Eignungsprüfung" then), so for me, early July would be by far the best option. :) July 4-5 would be awesome and is almost certainly doable from the point of view of free time (now there's also money, so I can't guarantee, but at least I've got half of the problems solved for that date ;)), especially since I'm likely not to have left Germany at the time.

Will you by any chance be in Nortrhein-Westfalen at the time, or in Frankfurt?

I think I might be in Köln in early July or late June. I'll know more when the time comes closer.
